Love your playing

Hey.....Thanks Everyone. It's surely nice to have an outlet for the four string, however small, it's pretty darn cool. Thanks for listening.

You've been picking some great tunes lately. Maybe even sparking a touch of interest...I might need to pick up a craiglist tenor and learn a few chords. I've always been afraid a mummer would find out and try to recruit me, though.

Absolutely.....it's great fun, and the tenor and five go hand in hand really. They can help one another. Totally different left and right tech, but can def help one another. I have a friend on here who is a Mummer, it's a big Party! They put tons of work into it.....don't know how they do it. My girlfriend and I are going to get down one year.......Don't be Scared!

I may have an extra tenor floating around here, especially if you can do some repair work. I'll give it to you.

Oh wow, that’s generous of you. I do all my own setup and I’ve been planning my 1st build for this winter’s project, so depending on what it needs I may be able to fix er up.

I had some brief marginal involvement with the Uptown Stringband back in the early 2000’s. One of my old college friends and his dad were heavily involved with Uptown String Band, and he went on to be the musical director of one of the bigger clubs. I also lived almost directly behind the Mummers museum in South Philly for about 8 years. So I’ve been to more than a few mummer’s parties, lol. As a matter of fact, that early experience with Uptown was one of my inspirations to learn to play the banjo.

They work haaaard though. Really dedicated, and I could never offer the time commitment the mummers need at this stage in my life. I am pretty sure every club could use a few more banjos though…

Christmas is just around the corner, Jeff, and this looks like a close match to your 5-string: guitarcenter.com/Used/Gibson/V...-Banjo.gc

No no no. Stop it, man. I'm not allowed to buy any more banjos right now. I have gotten myself in a lot of trouble around the house over the past year.
