A few weeks back on a forum topic, old mate Eddy Davis featured this magical song, playing his delightful rendition on tenor banjo.

So Eddy, once again!, you've inspired me into action, into giving this wonderful song a try, on plectrum banjo.

Here's to Burt and Hal, for bringing so much joy to our world .... through their music. .... Don.

To, Dave, Marco, Bruce, Bill, John, and Eddy, ...... friends, thanks for your kind replies, it was a pleasure for me to post this lovely song on the hang out, glad you enjoyed ''Alfie.''

Bruce, no question about it, both Cilla and Dionne did wonderful jobs of ''Alfie,'' but down here in Australia at that time, Cillas recording received so much more air play than Dionnes, where the reverse happened in the U S.

Here's a link of a Cilla live performance back in 1973 ..........  youtube.com/watch?v=W5rvMis6uTk

Don, I’m sorry I never heard Cilla Black sing alfie. What a beautiful voice.
