I found the tab for "The Lucky One" posted by Freddie D. Holt in 2012, but it is in TABLEDIT format, and when I click on it, it comes up as a jumbled, unrecognizable collection of symbols. Does anyone know how I can make it appear in a readable format? Or better yet, does anyone have a PDF version? (I really don't like TABLEDIT, but if it's all I can find, I'll work with it.) Also, is there a video anywhere of someone playing this song on the banjo? Thanks for any help you can give.

Here is a PDF version. I used Tuxguitar (linux) to import the .tef file and export as PDF. I hope it posts correctly.

OldBlindGuy's looks complete and may meet your needs. You can also open TablEdit files with a free app, TefView, from the vendor. You can also play the .TEF file using the built-in Midi in TefView. Here's the PDF output from TablEdit.

Thanks so much!  It looks fine to me!

Thank you very much!  I will look at both of them, and maybe combine the best of each!

Monkeygal
I've come across one video for the song. It is a rather rough recording, and I have no idea if the arrangement is even close to the one that is tabbed out.

I hope this helps.

You need the proper software to download Tabledit to your computer. Go here and download TefView. tabledit.com/tefview/index.shtml . It's a free copy of Tabledit and will allow you to see the tabs instead of a bunch of gibberish.

I just downloaded the song and the tab came up just fine. I could listen to it and change the tempo and edit in other ways. It's not the complete software, but it'll work for looking at, printing and listening to .tef tabs.

Thanks for the info! I’ll check it out!
