I'd like to hear some experienced Banjoists' thoughts on the solo bit in Lily Allen's Not Fair video.
Unfortunately I included the youtube link in my original attempt which was a nicely crafted message full of self-deprecation and humour. And not being able to post said link ({as a noob), it blew away my message as well. So please excuse my brevity second time around.
The bit seems to be based around the verse of Dm and F but I can't break it down with the Transcribe ap enough to figure it out (or if the guy in the youtube video is even miming it correctly)
Any help would be much appreciated as there's nothing on the interweb at all. Is it just super fast picking or is it simpler than that?
You can find the official video on youtube under Not Fair by Lily Allen. If you find the one with her singing in tune with a mulletted banjo player- seemingly having the time of his young life- you've found it.

Have you tried to work it out on the mouse organ ?
What the (miming) banjo player seems to be doing is a thrashy frailing thing as accompaniment and some fairly basic bluegrass rolls in the solo. I'd move your post to the Bluegrass section as that's where the best help would be. Nobody reads the "all other styles" section.

Here's how you post a link.

You probably won't get any help by moving this post to the Bluegrass section, but they will get a good laugh. Please include the live link.

Correction: Only me and Mooooooo read the "other styles" section. But I bet Mooooo doesn't know what a mouse organ is without the aid of Google.

I didn't remember it but recognized it once I googled it, I was a big fan of MontyP'sF'ingCirCUS in the 70s when they showed them on the public broadcast channel on the TV.

I'm glad you got the Bagpuss reference. Unfortunately I couldn't post the link as I had under the minimum number of posts and it was above my paygrade or something, but thanks for posting it and also the response. Now my rolls are getting better it seems less unachievable.
Good to know, just in case she wants me to join the band.
Sorry for late reply, I'm touring ina van and don't get online much.

This is not one of the better songs from Lily’s prime, but I love the video, both premise and execution.
I had to google mouse organ
