I got a new pc for christmas. downloaded the demo version of tabledit. the tablature shows up and the dial starts and goes thru the notes, but there is no sound. the speaker icon at the top of the tab has an x thru it. have contacted the folks at tabledit but no help there. my old pc has tabledit and there is no problem. anyone have an idea of how to fix this sound problem. I and others have had this problem and the solution lay in the settings area of the computer control panel, probably audio settings. Wish I could be more clear on this, but for me the solution was not intuitive. Hope more people chime in.

I don't know if this will be helpful, but on my iPad the same side button that enables me to cut on and off the clicking sound (like when I'm typing on it) also controls Tabledit's output. The volume can be all the way up but if I don't switch that button over I can't hear it. Maybe whatever the PC analogue of that is--something in the control panel that controls whether the mouse clicks, say--is the answer to your problem.

Open up Tabledit. Go to the menu on top. Click Midi, then Midi Setup and you want to have Microsoft Midi Mapper in the top field. Here is the manual if you need it.
