Is there a forum for the use of Tabledit? I am a new user, and have many questions. How does one get the standard notation staff to dissappear and reappear? I would like to print my first tab without standard notation.

File > Options > General tab > uncheck the Notation box.
You can do the same from Print Preview by clicking the Print Setup button.

Salvatone, here are two web sites that offer some help. One was given to me by Matthieu, the Tabledit creator. The other is a site with videos by Stephen Seifert. (By the way, I still use the free TabRite because it works so well with my Kindle ebooks, but I know I need to switch to Tabledit someday. These sites are part of my transition plan -- someday.)

IMHO every new user should take an hour or so and view the stephenseifert tutorial mentioned above.... stephenseifert.com/index.php/t...tutorials
I guarantee it is well worth your time and you'll learn a ton of neat stuff about how to set up, install and use tabledit....

I will watch these tutorials. I have solved the basic problems and am now moving on to getting the double lines and repeats going. Thanks all.

Hi David and Salvatone,
I suggest that you use the El Kay tutorial as it was done by Larry Kuhns who knows more about how to use Tabledit than anyone out there. Matthieu and Larry and I all work together...Too many tutorials can get really confusing....Jack

Thanks, Jack. I didn't know that you had a working relationship with Matthieu and Larry. Your endorsement carries a lot of weight with me.

And don't forget to join the TablEdit Yahoo Group where you can ask questions and get answers from other users as well as Matthieu himself.
It's sort of like an old BBoard site.
Also, if you haven't, be sure to download the PDF Users Manual - you can find many answers there. I printed it out and keep it by the computer.

Hi Brad,
I personally think it would be better to use the El Kay tutorial and Matthieu will answer questions right here on this site. Yahoo can be very unreliable and incomplete in these matters...Jack

Jack -
I know Yahoo has problems, but Matthieu developed the forum as a tabledit forum where people can ask questions (many I've seen are not covered in the tutorials), and get answers from him or somebody else who has run across them and found answers. It is also a place where many suggestions have been made and incorporated into updates of the program as well as bugs pointed out and been fixed.
You might find it interesting to just browse through the forum there and see what it has covered.
I've used all of the above sources, as well as the registered owner site and find that most of problems I've run across and not found answers to in the manual (which needs another updating, what with all the recent changes) have been covered in the Yahoo forum.
Just adding another option to finding answers.
(edit: Also, you can find questions and answers to problems with instruments other than banjo (gasp! ;) ) there. If you are into multi-instrumental tabs or play other instruments, this can be a big help.)

Hi,
I also supervise the help file.
If you find items that are incomplete or poorly treated on the help pages, I would be really happy to correct them.
Matthieu
