Hey, that's like the cyber equivalent of that story about how the Scruggs brothers used walk around the house in opposite directions and then see if they were still in time when they met on the other side! Good way to get your internal clock set properly, I imagine.

This is probably what Earl's metronome looked like. Earl worked for the Lily Mills textile mill near his home before leaving Shelby to join Bill Monroe's Band. Living in the shade of the Mill's Earl and his brothers would hear this sound every day and think nothing of it, Try pickin your banjo whilst listening to this power loom.

I played concert snare drum in school band.I learned to sight read time which made playing tab as written very,very simple.
I highly recommend taking a few rudimentary drum lessons for a great tutorial in reading and playing correct time on any instrument.
