In another post NPE mentioned Charlie Tagawa. I used to like to read Charlie Tagawa's articles in his columns in Frets and even started a file with photocopies of his articles. Did Charlie Tagawa ever make any lesson tapes with written instructions or tapes of tenor banjo favorite tunes with "how to" music instructions? Those would be nice to have and practice with.

Google "Peninsula Banjo Band" and see what you find.

I see Charlie often and studied under him for just over two years from 77-79. He simply uses lead sheets which he has marked up significantly with a custom rubber stamp of a four-string fretboard. He does not have his own lesson materials in book form. Each student had a binder which we simply added to as he gave us individual songs. Unfortunately, even after all these years, communication in English is not one of his strengths.

NPE - Thank you for your first hand facts. Too bad, really. From his old
Frets Magazine articles he really seemed knowledgeable and in touch with the interests of the "everyman"** tenor banoist.
