Hi I'm working with repeats in TablEdit and I'm placing them in the correct measures but when I play back the MIDI it plays right through them without repeating.
Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Sean

Sean, that used to happen in my own tabbing, and just last night I downloaded a tab whose repeats were ignored. The only way I get them to work more or less reliably in my tabs is to let TablEdit put them in automatically by setting up a Reading List (Ctrl+r) for each tune (you spell out precisely which measures should be played in what order, and TablEdit figures out the repeats for you). I never put repeats in "by hand" anymore. Now, if you're already doing a Reading List and the repeats are still being ignored, I don't have an answer. ;-)
And beware: if you have a Reading List in place and you then make a change to the time signature, the Reading List gets trashed and you have to re-do it. Bummer.

The reading list is indeed the only reliable way to get repeats to work (other than writing things out again). Even if you have a reading list things will not repeat unless you start your "play" at the very beginning of the tab.
This leads to a couple complications - if you make changes to the lengths of a part later, the change may not follow into the reading list. I've found it safest to wipe out the reading list when I'm going to make big changes to a tab, and build it again when I'm finished. So I mostly leave the reading list until the process is pretty much over.
Ther are also a few Options settings that are better than others and if you are having trouble with printing tabs you may be in need of a "formatting" lock. This is a file with all the Options set up to print well, that you can open anytime you've found strange things happening to your tab formatting.
I have a file named something like 0000_00_0penmefirst.tef Or similar, that resets all my preferred fonts and sizes, my symbol sizes, margins etc. It comes in handy because tabs I get from others can reset my options into a real mess.
