Thanks for the photos! I live near Nashville, and have no excuse for not going, except that I thought that there would not be a representation of old-time/clawhammer players. I bet that you had a great time!

I had a fantastic time. I really enjoyed meeting Bob Carlin. I've been a big fan of Bob's playing for a long time. We have several mutual friends. But we had not met until saturday.
Jens Kruger is absolutely amazing. I'm blown away with the music he and his brothers play. They play with such tremendous passion and emotion. It is truly a rare and beautiful thing! I met Jens at the Deering booth. What a great treat that was.
It was also a special opportunity to meet Mike Miles. I've never heard anyone quite like Mike. His playing is so advanced and his artistry is appealing. I'm a big fan!
Frank Lee is such agreat guy. I absolutely love his playing. Mark Johnson is a favorite too. I've known both of those guys for a while...and treasure any opportunity to see them.
I had a lot of fun at IBMA with the bluegrass folks too. But this workshop alone is worth the price of admission.

I was there also and really enjoyed the workshop and listening these guys play. I am new to clawhammer but want to learn more about it. I had a distant cousin by the name of Buell Kazee who was an oldtime frailing banjo player in KY and recorded a number of songs back in the late 20's and early 30's. I hope to spend some time here reading the posts.
