I'm an OT musician that's starting to play out a lot and need some recommendations on instrument stand(s).

I have two of these

Work ok, but what I'd like is one stand that would SAFELY hold the following:
Reiter Rounpeak banjo
Gibson J-35 guitar
beat-up German trade fiddle & bow.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've got one of these that works well, even on grass and uneven floors, but I hang banjos with the back facing out.

Seen those, but wasn't sure it'd work for a banjo. No problems grabbing the smaller part of the neck near the nut? Or do you hang it below the 5th string? How well would it balance with the relative weight differences between the guitar and banjo - not to mention when one or the other wasn't even on the stand?

Just FYI, I can live w/o hanging the fiddle on the stand.....just thought it might be nice.

Unless I'm In a high traffic area I always set my stuff on the floor holding to the belief that nothing will ever fall off of it.

I can't think of a single stand that I'd trust to hold all three at the same time. If you're interested in three separate stands that allow you to keep the instruments in close proximity to each other, try the hanging "Ultimate" stand. The cradle that holds the neck can be easily reshaped to accommodate any neck.

Works for me...

Mike, where do you hang yours from on the neck, just below the headstock?

Yes, the stand grips the back of the neck between the peg-head and nut. As I mentioned before, the "cradle" can easily be re-bent to fit the size of the neck.

The pads on the legs, which the instrument rests against, can slide up or down a bit to accommodate instruments of various lengths. I've used them for bluegrass, open back, and long-neck (Seeger) banjos, as well as my banjerine, mandolins and guitars.

I've got a Hercules triple. Bought it from Goldtone.
The headstock locks in when you hang the banjo.
I've had the stand for several years now and it works great.
