Broken Records Concert Series 2008 starts off with Adam Hurt in concert on Wednesday October 15th from 7-9:30PM. Concerts are held at the Hanover Arts & Activities Center <www.hanoverarts.com> in Ashland, 10 miles north of Richmond VA just off I95. All tickets are at the door $12. Opening the show with a short set is Becky Taylor and Open Fire. Becky will accompany Adam on guitar, vocals and possibly a few banjo tunes for part of the show.
The acoustics here are very live and ambient. The building dates from 1858 and began life as a church. With uncrowded seating for over 200, the presentations have an intimate feel much like a large house concert for acoustic artists.

Go, go, go!!!!!!!! If you're at all able to get to this, DO IT! If you are a dyed in the wool bluegrasser, you should go anyway. Adam is one of those people who really find's the music in a tune and brings it out.

Let me add my Amen to what Chip said. Adam is an amazing player and a true musician's musician. He is also a very cool guy to meet.

I''m trying for that "ragged, but right" sound. I''m half way there!

Good point Chip, I can't imagine a BG banjoist who would not enjoy and appreciate Adam's approach. We hava a few surprises too. Adam and I will be presenting some songs not normally associated with Old Time but in which we have found an Old time spirit. This would not be possible without Adam's incredible acumen for identifying and conveying both the strengths and nuances of a piece.
