If you don't listen to Pandora.com you should. I am able to listen at work and this is as good as I have found for music all day long BUT, I know some of you also must listen and I need a good song or artist that will get a station that plays a lot of clawhammer. So, who is using it and what is the station name you like best.

If you seed a Pandora station by giving it the name and the artist of a particular song you like, Pandora will never, ever play that particular song. It will play that song by other artists or other songs by that artist, but never exactly what you request. You have to use some finesse to get what you want.

This is bluegrass type advice; you can do what you want to with it.

I have a pretty good seed station you can try. Send me a message via BHO so I can get your email, and then can send the station to you via Pandora.

Are you (anybody) getting OT on Pandora??? Closest I can get is Ralph Stanley stuff. Now I love Dr. Ralph Stanley, but not at work. Any suggestions for what you're requesting to seed the playlist?
Thanks!

If "Fiddlin' John Carson with Moonshine Kate" is the sort of thing that you consider OT, that was what was playing on http://www.venerablemusic.com when I just checked. That site covers everything in the 78 rpm era, so there will be things that might not be what you are used to. I usually keep Venerable up, (it plays in a variety of external players, and the whole self-updating Web site runs inside MS Media player), and switch over to http://www.last.fm, (where they will play your specific requests), when Vernerable's musicology becomes a little unapproachable for me. There is also a wealth of OT music on the Folkways Smithsonian site. They have music they sell in FLAC format, but also podcasts that are free, Try http://www.folkways.si.edu/learn_di...ssions.aspx.

I have a Pandora station that is all fiddle/banjo instrumentals. If you want it, send me an e-mail with your e-mail address and I will share it. That's the only way anyone can access it.

As I recall, Tommy Jarrell, Dirk Powell, and Bruce Molsky all worked for me on Pandora... but I never could get it to keep out the Bill Monroe and pop-folk stuff.
