Sadly, has been cancelled.
The venue was battered by severe weather back a month or so ago but repairs were underway. George (Wunderlich) then reported the repairs would be complete for AEBG III. Unfortunately, another line of thunderstorms just two weeks ago did more damage, including shifting one of the historic buildings off of its foundation. More trees were downed (over 100 in the first storms, some were quite old, having been present for the battle), both the Pry House Museum and the Barn sustained damage. George and his staff are overwhelmed with repair duties and thus he was forced to cancel AEBG until 2009.
We have been making a feeble attempt to have a mini-gathering but have thus far been unable to find a venue at such short notice.
Sept. 2009 though, we will all have two years worth of banjo tunes stored up...look out when we let 'em go!!

I think most folks quickly made other plans to fill the gap, and alternative dates that were close to it seem taken on everybody's schedule. Let the excitement build for another 12 months. I know I really enjoy this gathering.
