I can't get any sound on my tabledit downloads. The display works fine. Of course, I've checked my computer's volume mute. Any suggestions to help me restore the sound?

Hi Cornflake,
I've had the same problem pop up a few times. I fixed it by double clicking on the volume icon on the taskbar and turning up the slider for " SW Synth" . Hope it helps you.
Cheers,
Tooleo

Tooleo,
I have version 2.65 and I have the same problem but where's SW Synth? I don't see it when I open the volume control.

Hamestring ,
The volume control you are looking for is not the one within Tabledit , but the Windows volume control. If you right click the volume icon on your taskbar's lower right corner and select " open volume control " , you'll get 4 sliders. Volume control , Wave , SW Synth , and CD Audio. You can get to the same menu through Control Panel, Sounds, Speech, and Audio devices.
I'm not very computer savvy , and pretty much stumbled on this myself. Also I'm using Windows XP , but I think the menus are pretty similar between other versions.
Cheers,
Tooleo

Weird - selecting the synth and turning up the volume works. Thanks, I've been dicking about ages trying to get the sound back... my tabledit was working fine until I listened to one of the tablature sound files in midi and when I went back to tabledit the sound had gone. Computers are a mystery...

eagleisland has a great idea. I keep all my little tips like that in a file call "magic.spells" (stole the idea from an old workmate). I currently have about 50-60 such little items now.

I'm not getting playback on the tabledit. I've tried the above. My SW Synth is unmuted and pegged at max and still no playback. Any other ideas?
Thanks
Scott

Tooleo - thank you, thank you, thank you! I had also lost my volume and was about to post an enquiry when I happened across this. ![]()

It happens to me when I've used Real Player or something similar, which then decides to be the default player in preference to tabledit
This usually does it for me:
start
settings
sound speech & audio devices
adjust system volume
audio
ESS allegro
volume
volume control
slide everything up to the top
Now try Tabledit
