Anyone ever hear of one of these. I found a slightly beat up one at a local gift shop. Its made in Japan. Openback 5-string.

I didn't buy it, I didnt know if it was worth the 56 bucks. The head looked crappy and the 5th string tuner was missing. Also the bridge looked like a broken clothes pin.

There were a few factories Over There in the mysterious Orient, rthat made banjos that anybody could slap their own label on.
Without pictures, I'm just going to guess it was one of those.

Thanks Mike, I may buy it. If I do I will post a picture. It looks like a piece of junk, but I could fix it up for my kids. My wife will love me for that.

The parts alone should be worth $30-$70 depending.
