This is a non-scratch belt buckle with a matching strap. The buckle is oval in shape and domed, so that it cannot scratch your resonator. The standard buckle and belt is smooth leather, but either can be customized with a design. Either can be purchased separately.
This is an outstanding belt and well worth the money. The belt and buckle are constructed of stout cowhide. The belt is made of two bonded and sewed pieces of leather. It is smoother leather on the inside, so it slides smoothly through your belt loops. Inside the belt, there is a pocket for a flat pick.
I've had my buckle and belt for about six months now and it has only gotten better-looking over time. I cannot see any wear or tearing and I'm hard on belts. I've got the natural color and it has deepened over time into a beautiful chestnut color. I'm planning on getting a black strap/buckle, too.
The guy that make these belts is Dave Nay. Dave has been a bona-fide cowboy and knows more about leather than anyone I know. His main line of business is Western saddles, but also makes gun straps, holsters, and instrument straps. I have one of his guitar straps and it is of better quality than any other strap than I've ever owned.
Dave can carve leather (my guitar strap is carved) and he can do original designs as well. Plus, Dave is a fine musician himself and plays several instruments, so he understands the needs of musicians.

The Acoustic Musician is in Sandy, Utah and has an online store at http://www.theacousticmusician.com .
Mike Taylor owns this store and it has developed into a local hangout for acoustic musicians. There is a jam session at the store on Thursday nights. Group and individual lessons are taught for banjo, guitar, mandolin, and bass.
Mike's prices are surprisingly low. One thing different about The Acoustic Musician from other online stores is that every instrument is checked out before it is shipped, unlike other stores that have the instrument drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer. For in-store purchases, Mike offers 6 string changes for the first year.
The Acoustic Musician is a great place to hang out and I've made several friends there in the past year. Highly recommended! |
