Well, what a fantastic bridge the Beaver King is. So much for other " designer " bridges. This will wipe the ( factory ) floor with them. Super rich tone, volume and clarity. For $20 Canadian ? It's a give away.
Get one soon... before Dave get's too busy ! |

I have tried a number of high end bridges on my RB12, but I installed an AMB maple bridge today and I must say I am very impressed. It outperforms every bridge I currently own, and I have some good ones.
The tone is rich and clear with superb volume.
In short, if you are considering a new bridge, I suggest you try one of Tom's. They are excellent. |

If Banjo music moves you, I strongly urge you to obtain a copy of Jens Krugers DVD. It is absolutely fabulous. For me, Tony Trischka WAS no'1. Until I saw Jens. What a total master. His music ( original tunes ) are quite moving. I was fairly spell bound watching this, and I have seen many great Banjo players in my time.
Do yourself a huge favour. Whatever your level, get this DVD. I promise you will love it. |

I recently used a Drum Dial to set the tension on my RB12 to 89 across the head. My banjo sounded very good before... it sounds even better now. Not cheap, but if you desire the BEST from your Banjo... get one ! |

My friend in Nashville had this RB12 just hanging around his workshop and it had hardly been played. When I told him I was after one, he dismantled it and put it back together PROPERLY ! It's early days but this is a FABULOUS Banjo. My freind is a luthier and re-fitted the tonering on the rim as well. It is VERY loud, crisp and bell clear. I play mostly Bluegrass and it is perfect. I must add that the neck is extremely good. Feels perfect for me. UPDATE: Now had my 12 for a couple of months. MAN, this Banjo just never fails to impress me. It rings so clear and powerful up the neck. Other so called "good " banjos would just die up there. It really is a fabulous banjo in all respects. |

Setup
|
Set up was perfect. Low action. Build quality is excellent. Fit of parts is exact, which is crucial. I have fitted a Prucha Clamshell tailpiece, which is an exact replica of the tailpiece that would have been on it back in the late 30's, and a BEAVER KING bridge which really is excellent. Rich and clear with great volume. I highly recommend them.
I have never heard a Banjo ring so clear up the neck. I belive this RB12 will equal ANY banjo out there. I recently attended a Bluegrass festival and I had a line of pickers wanting to play it ! |

For me, it's the best looking Banjo out there. Classic 1930's Art Deco styling. Lovely Walnut finish. Of course it is a top tension ! |

Personal preference, I put the Clamshell on, with the BEAVER KING that's all I changed. Everything else is superb. |

I have now had this 12 about a year... it's just fantastic. Forget the price... it came from a very good freind. I feel very lucky to have a Banjo of this quality. A Banjo for life ? I hope so... |
