Sound

The 12" cherry pot with honduran rosewood tone ring has an incredibly resonant sound throughout the scale. Especially tuned to double C, the low sound is just beautiful and plunky and but also rings out. It is plenty loud when playing in jam sessions with lots of other guitars, mandolins and even with a resonator banjo. Pretty incredible for an open back. It just sings. |

I am a beginner, but the banjo seemed perfectly set up for me. I will probably experiment with different bridges, but only to learn how the sound can change and be different. It came with a Romero bridge and a renaissance head. |

oh my. It is the most gorgeous thing I've laid eyes on. The simple abalone and mother of pearl star inlays are perfect. The simplicity of them is perfect but the craftsmanship is also incredible. The cherry and chechen combination is offers a subtle difference in color and grain that is stunning. Absolutely no flaws. Jason Romero obviously puts a piece of himself in every banjo for them to be so beautiful and resonate.
This is a minimal banjo but choice of materials make it more beautiful in my eyes than the most fancy and intricate inlay.

The hooks and tail piece are bronze, hand cast by Jason. they seem extremely well made, excellent craftsmanship and made to last. The tuners seem like very high quality and I love the natural oil finish. I would totally count on this banjo. |

I contacted Jason regarding finding a used Romero banjo. One had just been listed on ebay and incredibly, Jason contacted the owner and asked them to take it off auction for me. Incredible service and I feel very fortunate to have found one used.
I am sure that if I had any issues that Jason would be great to work with. He is very quick to respond and eager to be helpful and back up his work.
Jason offers a lifetime warranty to the original owner.

Are you kidding? I am totally in love with this banjo. No other will do. I would wither away and die without it. :0)
I haven't played that many other banjos. I chose this one out of the Ome jubilee, Chuck Lee Rose Hill, and Brook Masters Spartan. I have played the Ome and the Chuck Lee. They are all great, but this one is meant for me.
