Overall Comments

I have looked at the pictures of these tailpieces for a while and finally called Mr.Fults. He was very knowledgeable and polite. I ordered the Cumberland model on Monday afternoon. It arrived Thursday and I was not disappointed. I've always felt the tailpiece was a weak point in the Gibson-type banjo. I believe Mr.Fults is on the right path to correcting this. This product is expertly crafted and it works real well. It looks like what I wanted and it has the tone I like. I like the secure attachment, the relatively heavy weight, the ease of changing strings, and the easy height adjustment. I'd highly recommend this tailpiece if you aren't afraid to try something that "Earl" or "Sonny" didn't have. Having made a few tailpieces myself, I can say that this one is well-engineered and fabricated.
