I reside with people who sleep so I have to mute the Deluxe between 10 and 2. This little mute works quite well. Much better than one that sits on top of the bridge. It's a tad tricky to use. I scratched my head nicely when I first put it on. It doesn't have to go all the way on to do its thing. Not sure how it'll wear but new it does what it's supposed to and relatively painlessly. |

This mute required a fair amount of "adjustment" out of the box. As it came it did not fit over my bridge at all. Using a pair of pliers and something to bend it around, I got it to fit fairly well. It does mute the volume of my banjo, but I expected a bit more. |

Very disappointed! Hard to adjust, interferes with bridge position, does only a slight muting. I would send it back if possible, may try to swap for another type of mute since JDMC is very accomodating to customers. |

This mute works and is simple and inexpensive. I had to bend mine to make it fit to my Scorpion bridge. If it is too tight, you risk moving the bridge sideways when mounting it. It does not interfere with your right hand picking.
The mute works by adding weight to the bridge, as most other mutes. The backside of this is that it increases sustain, so my banjo sounds more like a dobro.
Conclusion: Not as good as playing without a mute, but much better than a divorce. |

This mute actually fits around the banjo bridge. The mute is made of metal and must be slightly bent to fit well on the bridge but when put on, it does a great job of dampening the sound of the banjo. Has the same tonal qualities just makes the sound quieter. Does not interfere with playing at all. |
