Although my 1987 Gibson ESS sounded good as it was, I decided to try a Snuffy Smith Bridge since most of the guys I know who play Gibson Banjo's all use them, and are very happy of how they inhanced the sound, volumn and tone. To sum it all up, I will probably never have anything other than Snuffy Smith Bridge, I am very satisfied, and wish I had put it on sooner. I am sure there are many good Bridges out there but for me it is "Snuffy Smith"

I've used Snuffy Smith bridges in .656, 11/16 and 3/4 size. They are the best I've tried. Volumn and sustain increase on any banjo I've put them on. There are copies that are non-Snuffy originals out there and they are well, copies.

The lean of a Snuffy toward the tailpeice really keeps these bridges placed solidly (as opposed to perfectly vertical bridges). As advertised they are used by many professionals. They are available "Crowe" spacing, in even finer grades of wood and compensated. All of my experieces has been with standard Snuffys.
