Sound
|
This is without doubt the best banjo I have ever played for Irish Traditional Music. It has volume, sustain, it's crisp and is so consistent regarding tuning, intonation etc. |

Setup
|
It was set-up perfectly but I made a few adjustments and found that with a clear head instead of a frosted head the sound was even crisper. |

Appearance
|
It's a beautiful banjo, just enough ornate materials. It is curly maple and with a clear head this banjo definitely stands out. |

Reliability
|
I play professionally and it has had a hard 2 years on the road since I got it. There has never been a problem with it. It's so solid. |

Overall Comments

I would recommend this banjo even though by the time it gets to Ireland it's expensive. There are a few good banjo makers in Ireland who specialise in tenor banjos but none of them compare with a Deering. They don't have the same sustain, volume and they look old before their time. Get a Maple Blossom, you won't ever ever regret it. |
