Miles City Montana Bluegrass Festival

Miles City hosts a popular bluegrass festival titled "Music on Wings". Friday evening begins with a bluegrass jam where anyone who plays a stringed instrument can join in this kickoff session. On Saturday the formal schedule begins at 10 AM. Bands from surrounding states play one-hour sets continuing until 9 PM. On Sunday, the final day begins at 9:45 AM with a gospel theme and again the bands play throughout the day.

A Weber mandolin fund-raiser and door prizes are part of the schedule. The festival takes place at the Eastern Montana Fairgrounds inside the Home Show Building. This festival is the only one in southeastern Montana featuring some of the best in bluegrass music. Ron Mills, a local banjo musician and founder of the festival, welcomes all tourists coming to the show and encourages them to visit historic Miles City.
