Clawhammer Banjo workshop with Dan Levenson

Date: 5/17/2008
9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Clawhammer Basics and Beyond

Session 1 — 10:30 — 12:30. Double and Drop starts with an overview of the basics. Banjo workshops come in all shapes and sizes and this one is designed to fit all. No doubt most folks want to learn the same thing, more tunes, and this workshop gives you the tools you need to do just that.

Starting with Double Thumb technique this session is where we will reinforce good playing skills to get you up and playing with the old time scene without hurting your body along the way.

Session 2 1:30 — 4:30 - Galax and Lix, Tunes and Tricks — Here is where we will put it all together. Drop thumb, the "Galax Lick" and more will be taught resulting in your ability to play virtually any tune you want with these techniques. Don't believe it is possible? Come and see, or is that play, for yourself! Dynamics and learning tunes by ear will also be covered as time and skill level allows.

For more information or to register please email Dan Levenson at oldbzrd@aol.com, or visit his site at http://www.OldTimeMusic.us
