Hey Friends!

I just put up a version of 'Temptation Rag' this a fun tune that I heard a lot of string bands play down on Royal St. in New Orleans.

Enjoy!

Fantastic Jack. You're my hero. I know the Tenor Banjo is in good hands now. You're buddy Eddy "The Manhattan Minstrel"

Very nice. Ragtime is a genre that is probably under-represented in the banjo world, and many times when it's heard, the player has "hopped it up" to more of a Jazz thing. I like the fact that you've played it straight, more as Mr. Lodge intended.

I'd like to hear more of these. There are many, many ragtime pieces to try besides this one. Some are fairly simple but others would be a real challenge.

Exactly my thoughts as well- great job resisting the temptation to swing it like most do.  A huge part of the pre- old-time 5-string repertoire is ragtime (including the Temptation Rag), but there aren't many classic fingerstyle players left these days.

That's all very true... Very nice job. Ragtime can be fingerpicked on the five-string banjo and on the guitar. But it's also very nice with the flatpick on the tenor banjo...

Brilliant playing - I love ragtime and it sounds great on the tenor banjo.
