First things first.  I want to say how thankful I am to be able to do what I truly love to do, which is produce banjos.  The support from the Banjo Hangout has been awesome and I really appreciate the opportunity to give back.   I also need to give thanks to Eric Schlange and his team that allow us to talk and discuss banjos here on the hangout.  This forum has been a wealth of information for all of us and without his efforts none of this would be available.  With that being said.....

It time for another banjo giveaway.

This time I thought it would be really fun if we did a different type of banjo giveaway.  Instead of doing a standard Sullivan Vintage 35 we teamed up with Tim Davis of Davis inlays and we are producing a theme banjo and we will be featuring this build along the way here on the hangout.

When I was thinking about what to make this time around I called my buddy Tim Davis and together we came up with the "We The People"  theme.  Tim and his team  did a fantastic job on the inlay work in the peghead, truss rod cover, and fingerboard and has agreed to be part of this thread so he can give some insight into what materials he used to help make this one of a kind banjo.

The rest of the banjo will be curly maple Vintage 35 with brass hardware to kind of finish out the look.  Please follow along as this banjo comes together and please do not forget to sign up as someone will be getting this banjo for free.

Pictures will be posted as the build progresses but if there is any aspect that you would like to see more of just put up a post.  Here are a few pics of the peghead and overlay

Thanks and good luck,

Eric Sullivan

Lyndon,

This is going to be a regular Banjo Hangout drawing.  Eric Schlange has been waiting on me for the details.  Getting them together and sending them right away.

Thanks, Eric

An excellent theme idea and I'm sure it will be executed with greatness.  It's something important to remember at this point in history.

I have a Vintage 35 Walnut, and eveybody who plays it is amazed.   I made a good choice on this one!   (Relationship, investments, etc....not so much :)

Love it! American through-and-through, great theme.
I'm in too, that'd be one heck of a great banjo for my first Sullivan. :-)

All the best!
Happy Thanksgiving!
