I don't have barking dogs to alert me, but I did recognize the package within my mail box. I had never held one of these before and I must say, it sure is quite a piece of engineering. I'm just going to hold it for awhile before I work up the nerve to pull the old Presto off.

Mine is the nickel plate XYZ with a half Gold/half Nickel 34Parallel. The bit of gold really sets off the tailpiece. I didn't want a full-out gold plate as my banjo is all nickel.

These are quite large. I didn't realize how hefty these really are. That Presto is a little lightweight thing.

I'll have to take a picture of it when I get it set-up.

I have got to unsubscribe from this thread before one shows up in my mailbox. Either that or maybe have it show up in one of my buddy's mailboxes, I really don't want to have to start explaining why I need this $200.00 tailpiece but if I keep reading this thread nothing good will come of it. NOW I Got TPAS!!! shock

The only thing that scares me is all that adjustment(s) My banjo sounded perfect with that Presto. Real gappy with it, I was.
I hope to retain that......and have that really cool looking tailpiece in the silver/gold FULTS 34Parallel. I'll be taking a picture or two and playing the snot out of it/adjusting it.

I decided to break the Presto tradition and get one. It has enhanced certain aspects of my
banjo that were missing without actually knowing that they were absent in the first place.
I've had the same banjo for close to 50 years with the same tailpiece. All I can speak to is how
it worked for my banjo. It seems to have worked to make it a lot more responsive without
having to work so hard to get it out (if that makes sense). I was so pleased I wrote a review
shortly after installing it, and still feel it helped to bring out some good things that were not
there before. It is, in my opinion, worth the investment to try it on your banjo. They are easy
enough to remove if it doesn't work for you, and you can easily return to the "Presto tradition".

Started adjusting and playing. I have this reral loud "PING" from the 1st string. All other sound normal. That ping is really something.

I tuned that one sharp and that took most of it away. Don't understand it.

After playing it for some time, I realized that I hadn't installed the arm rest.....now I gotta wonder if my picking finger (middle finger) was hitting it at an odd angle?????

More experimentation needed

Wife said the banjo is louder now.

Another take.
I have one shim on each side of mount and the tailpiece is 3/8" from head to underside of tail.

yeah..............? Thanks!

Too bad I can't play the durn thing. I always wanted a quality banjo. My early childhood years hero was Roy Clark; Hee Haw. Now I have one. All the updated accessories really haven't helped me any. I can put enough notes together in some sorta "time" to squeek out a few songs. Working on Ballad of Jed Clampett. It sorta sounds like the song, too.!

This would be a good banjo for someone who really knew how to make it work. That Fults just looked real cool on his web-site, I had to have one!

Like to hand my banjo to someone like Steve Martin and let him make it talk.

.....still waiting........!!

I played my banjo for the first time on stage last night! My Fults didn't help me play any better but I knew I had a real cool looking tailpiece hanging on the banjo. I guess I had more confidence in my banjo..............(?)

That thing sure is LOUD in an auditorium.

I have had the Cumberland on for three years now and its great.  If a string breaks on stage, the rest of them stay in tune.  Its a rock solid tail piece.  Your Banjo will stay in tune better......cool

ummm. Pro-Fiver............. In Gold.

Dean thought his rings more/better (?) I don't know, with the mount pulled away from the two hooks, compared to placement of the bracket mount against them. Bob Fults said it "opens up" the banjo, pulling the bracket away from the two hooks. I don't speak banjo so I don't know what that means.

I havn't tried placing mine as you have, yet. But I will.

I have one shim on each side of the bracket. Quite the ring!
