Last night I was on the Fults web page, looking at all the pictures, trying to figure out how all the mounting pieces worked, and analyzing all the nice big pictures. Unknown to me, that as my wife was watching TV behind me, she was also watching me at my computer. I guess this was going on for over 1/2 hour, and she finally blurted out "Order the darn thing already!" surpriseblushsmileycoolkiss So I have one on the way! I love the simplicity of the Cumberland, and got the XYZ mount with it.

So... what keeps all them little screws and bolts and assorted pieces from vibrating apart?

Well at least if you don't like it or have problems you can blame it on your wife.

You will love the Fults.  The little allen screws are secure and stay tight with no problem.  I have the Blue Ridge with the XYZ mount and it's awesome.  Any questions - Bob Fults is there to help.  The written directions were not the easiest for me to follow but he sorted it out for me on the phone.  Lots of places to make adjustments so it can be a little overwhelming when you first do it.  Then it falls into place and it all makes sense.  No more floaters for me.  Upscale banjos should have the Fults as original equipment as far as I am concerned but they don't.  Just like bridges.  The banjo builders are keeping the parts and accessory business alive and well by putting junk on for starters.  I bet if you polled the members, they would tell you the first thing they change when they get a banjo is the bridge.  Amazing.

I tryed them all,Iprefer the Parallel models, and this week after a long wait I finally found a Blueridge Parallel, hehe, and to top that I also found an Alvarez White Eagle, good week. But enough of me ,I agree the Fults is all the tail piece you will ever need, screws don't get loose, and in the event that you loose one screw Bob Fults will get you one in a flash, superb quality great service and a very sexy looking tailpiece.

Your really going to like it they are rock solid. I agree with kmwaters the should be standard equipment on high end banjos but that's simply my opinion. Oddly enough last time I went to elderly insturments, about a year ago, the in house banjo tech had no clue about this insidious device on the rump of my banjo. He never saw one before.

Hi Dean congratulations on the new tailpiece.  I am curious about your choice.  Out of the five tailpieces Fultz offers what turned you on to the Cumberland.  What was it that made you pick this model?

I have the 34P model, but I picked it mainly because I wanted something like the Price Straightline and could not find one..

Too bad we cant try all 5 and see if there is any differences.

Dean, you are going to like that Fults and talk about quality made top notch. I had the 1934 parallel and it was great with my wide string spacing. Another nice thing you don't have to worry about it coming loose. When did you change your screen name, are you in the wittiness protection program. Have fun playing with that new TP. Larry

Thanks for all the great comments! Scooter, I had made my old screen name up on a whim a loooong time ago, I finally decided I'd rather just be my real name :).

I chose the Cumberland for simplicity, one piece, smooth bend, round pegs, no cover. That can make a difference if you have to change a string in 30 seconds :). Once I realized what the xyz mount was all about, I had to go with that! I love the idea of being able to move the whole string set over...as I've always like a little more edge room on my 1st string, and it's not nearly as critical on 5th.

BTW, I used to fly R/C model airplanes... and if my memory is correct, a fellow by the name of Bob Fults used to make landing gear from them. I'm betting its the same guy!

My wife is so wonderful. She is a digital camera nut... and we have learned from watching each other, that the amount of time spent gazing at things on the internet, is directly proportional to what the Fed-Ex truck delivers to our front door :)... besides, a tailpiece for me equals a new lens for her at least!

I have a 1934 with an XYZ mount, it never moves from where you set it and has a great tone range. I prefer the Fults over the stock Presto any day, much better quality,....dial it in and you can really make your banjo sound great with it.

I have a Blue Ridge Parallel with the XYZ mount and it's rock solid.  I also had my banjo in Elderly, the banjo tech, banjo appraiser, and sales people said they hadn't seen or heard of Fults tail piece.

Your going to love it.  Let us know how much. smiley

I have a 1934 parallel and like it alot.  If you ordered from Fults it should get to you real fast.

Bob Fults is a great guy to talk to if you ever have questions.

Dean--I had one in just after I got the Banjo two years ago. I received it in about 5 days. Don't forget that Mr Fults does not keep a large inventory. He custom makes what when we order.. I don't think I will ever use any else. Very solid and OH yes---1934 =Fults logo on looks very sharp!

If I remember right,..... it was within 5 working days from the time that the order was placed until it rolled up in the driveway. Bob Fults is a heck of a nice person..... and he will answer any questions that you have to help you with any problems if you have any........ (I know he helped me with my questions).

I e-mailed Fults, and I got a reply from Bob in a couple minutes! How cool is that? He said he had just gotten back from a convention, and my tailpiece had gone out priority mail Tuesday... oh man... maybe today?... C'mon dogs... start barking!

Ross Nickerson said that he had to go back an re-record songs on an album he was working on after he installed his FULTS???

I can't belive it made that much difference.

Congrats Dean. My Maple Blossom came with the Cumberland and the XYZ mount with the guitar tuner on it. I really like the tail piece but wouldn't recommend the tuner on it. it sticks way out and barely fits in the case. I'm always having to watch out for it when sitting the banjo down on something. But, I must admit it's real handy when I want to make an adjustment. Anyway, welcome to the team!

I got 1934 with XYZ's mounts on both my Banjo's! I can't say enough about the quality and durability! I had a mix up with my second order, an address change, and Bob fixed it mucho pronto! He's got my recommendation!
