Great site! I like the non-conventional 5 string design. With the 5th string going all the way to the peghead, does it use spikes to tune it up to G?

Nechville built one like this...I believe it was a custom for an Oregon picker.

Yeah, I'm happy for Robin. He's got a cover story coming out in the next day or two in the Banjo Newsletter. I've had the good fortune of playing a few of those banjos on his site. Incredible instruments. Super creative builder and impeccable craftsmanship.

Very cool! I love the new web site. Robin is one heck of a great guy and "The Man" for banjo necks as far as I'm concerned. He did the conversion work and neck on my TB-11 which was an awesome experience. Robin gave great feedback during the design process and did everything he said he would do in exactly the time frame he promised. It doesn't get any better in my opinion.

the string goes over a small nut just like it does on a standard neck except then it goes into a tunnel under the fretboard in side a tube that is secured in a groove and then exits beside the truss rod cover (on mine anyway) to the 5th tuner on the peghead. so you just install your RR spikes in the normal places . he made the neck for my old 11 about 10 years ago with a radiused fretboard and it has performed like a dream since then.
