I've read something similar to your approach, Dean. Using the "I will not ______ today" concept. I will not smoke today. I will not drink today. I will not debt today. Makes it easier to think about than forever.
Unfortunately my personality is more along the lines of "well, hell, if I might do it tomorrow I might as well do it today and just get it out of the way."
I don't have a lot of willpower. |

I've never been accused of being a quitter. I still drink a beer every once in a while, I still will drink a glass of whiskey every now and then, but no where like I used to. I used to drink one of the big jugs of Jim beam with the handle on it and two 30 packs of beer on over a weekend, then a couple of 30 packs during the week. I'm surprised my bride put up with me, several times she almost didn't. I missed out on a lot with the kids during those years. I haven't quit, but I've had a bottle of makers mark now for over a year and it isn't empty yet. when I buy beer it will last a great long time too. I guess I have quit snuff though

Well, you are about 40 now, give or take a little. that comes with time, even though my memory wasn't very good 20 years ago

They say the memory is the second thing you lose as you get older. I can't remember what the first is.
