I like my supervisor okay, but I sure as heck wouldn't want to be married to her.

My best friend when I was three was also named Jennifer, so we decided we were parrots and would go around repeating everything that people said.

We were probably really annoying.

One of my roommates years ago had an African Grey. Every night my roommate would call the dogs into his room when he went to bed. Not two days after he got the bird, I was trying to take a nap. One of the dogs started barking and I yelled, "Indy!" And suddenly I heard that bird saying "Indy, BenBen, JuJu, in the room, in the room!"

He'd learned the dogs names and how to call them into the bedroom in two days!

He also learned to imitate the fax machine, the answering machine, the telephone ringing, etc. I heard from my friend recently and he said the bird was imitating the trash truck backing up.

I can identify! Did you know starlings can talk? we have two rescued pet starlings. They know their names, they mimmic the TV, my banjo, they bark and meow, squeek like the door, sneeze, and tell us to "go to sleep" whenever we turn the lights out... as well as a handfull of other popular phrases my wife and I use. Yeah, I said starlings. Run of the mill starlings. the most bratty, personality filled, entertaining, appreciative, loving, funny birds I've ever had. They fell out of their nest before they even had feathers. My wife raised them on cat food (which they still live on) One is 5 years old and the other is 3 now.

I remember you mentioning that you'd raised them. I don't remember you mentioning they can talk. That's pretty cool.

I would call it more like a wratchet sound. When I start playing they start "wratchet chirping" at a pretty good BPM. Same note though... sort of like a mono-roll. Then my dog howls when I play slide...when I get them all going at once it's hard to play because I'm laughing so hard. I keep telling my wife we need to get some video and send it to AFV

I had a roommate who had a great parrot who talked up a storm but also mimiced the telephone ringing. You could never tell whether it was a real call coming in or the darn bird. I swear she did it just to make fools of us.

My roommate's bird was like that. I just stopped answering the phone. It was usually for him anyway.

So I noticed the last couple of days that my car was running a little funny. So this morning I decided to check the oil.

You know, it runs much better with oil.
