I just purchased the Gibson RB that was being offered by Phillip- one of the maple ones. I am going to correct the headstock pearl flaw and make a new more fully inlaid fretboard for it from some ebony I have had for 30 years(Gaboon/Gabon-take your pick). It will be just gaudy, combining Andy DePaule's pearl overlays, Orpheum style, and traditional individual inlay on the un-marked fret positions. I will then resize the remaining Orpheum overlays to fit to another fretboard(I usually abbreviate that "FB") and again fill in as I choose.

I will likely make it my daily player, unless by dumb luck I happen to build something I like more-that is certainly way down that road, by my realistic reckonin'.

Went to Song of the Great Lakes-other Dan- and got my block build help. I had visited Dan in the past because we share the Shopsmith fetish. I can't recall if I posted any shop photos here. I will, if anyone is curious, but I have to learn to upload through another site, I guess. The My Les Paul site allows uploads from my computer, direct to the posts. Photobucket and I are at war-a cookie fight I think. It insists on only letting me forward the "last" photo from some time ago. I have given up on a fix.

I figured the Gibson would provide a decent example for patterning some aspects of a banjo build. And, I was pleased to be able to buy the lower end Gibson in maple instead of mahogany. Sorry for the ramble-really just wanted to thank Song of --Dan. Ol'Lefty (PS-I read the photo posting instructions but still not sure I understand-it did sound as though I am required to filter photos through an intermediary website-I never liked that even before the Photobucket difficulties)

You can load photos directly to your BHO home page photo album. You don't have to go through Photobucket or the like for that. Then just refer folks to your home page.
I like Photobucket. Never had any problems with it. What problems did you have with it?

Hi Dan- Photobucket will not "let go" of a photo I tried to upload to the My Les Paul forum a couple of months ago. I can size properly, select the url tag for forums(or even the "ordinary url" tag) and it insists on sending that same darned picture. I have no idea how to free it up. I have already tried backing out and shutting down the program. O'L
