Here's a popular in demand tuning, used alot by guys like Ron Block, Ron Stewart, Jason Burleson, who play a lot in D position: aDGBD (a=capo spiked up 1 step)

Exactly, that's what I meant to say.. capo 5th string up to 7th fret |

Eric, I posted this earlier, but not in this thread.. but the Guitar Pro to Tabledit converter link is bad, and it didn't redirect me to Banjo Hangout after I reported the bad link.

Not sure what value I can add, but sign me up of you need any additional hands. I'm catching up on my post retirement 'honey do' projects :-)
But don't let the wifey know - she'll make another list!! |

Another Category needed...
We don't have a "Blues" category...
I've already neeed it ina number of instances...
And what about "Gospel"... that one doesn't seem to exist either...
Just a thought...
Thanks in advance for your consideration...

Seems like it would be very handy to have a category entitled, "Gospel"... no matter the style...
Thanks in advance...

Easy tunes for Celtic 5-string would be up my alley. I need to finish another book for Mel Bay too, but I see feeding the two birds out of the one hand, so, thank you for your consideration.

I got registered versions of Tabledit And Guitar Pro. I can convert from Tabledit to GP5 for those who need it.

On the registered Tabledit website, there is a program for converting GP5 to tabledit, or vice versa.

There's no name or indication or available tuning for John Hartford's Low A tuning in the BHO tab archive section for posting arrangements...
I just posted a chord, roll and lick exercise to the BHO tab archive and had to leave the 'tuning' blank...
If I had the say so, I would associate Hartford's name with it, because it seems to be unique to his playing...

Hi Eric,
Would it be possible to extend the editing time to at least 20 or 25 mins. Your present time limit is just a bit short I feel. I know I should probably take more time before I post but stuff does come when posting hyperlinks to tabs, PDFs, and midis etc...have a great holiday Eric...Jack p.s. your tuning possibilities are expanding nicely.

If you'd be interested in being deemed a "tab admin" so you can go in and update tabs with the new info, post here to let me know!
Also, FYI--you can upload tabs to the new beta site right now. Cool stuff!

How much does it pay?
Haw!
But, no, seriously, I need a job. If I finds me one o' them, well, then maybe I'll be able to afford internet at home, and would be more able to help in these sorts of matters.
The librarians don't like it when you break out the banjo, you know.

I use Guitar Toolkit & Tab Toolkit a lot on my iPad. They're both awsome apps, also for the banjoist. Tab Toolkit lets you search the web and download tabs, which it can play for you. It doesn't play TEF's, that's a bummer, but it does play Guitar Pro files. Since people are not only volunteering but also giving good tips like Chords & Categories, I would like to suggest to convert the tabs to a good range of different file formats. |

quote: I am new to the banjo hangout. I am excited to learn from other's and grow in my banjo experience. I am a singer/songwriter and have been playing the guitar for 40 years. I am more of a contemporary country singer but have always loved the banjo and grew up with bluegrass roots. I want to add Sarah Jarosz tunes to my song list when performing at local establishments especially, "Tell Me True". I viewed her video and see it is claw hammer style. She uses a capo as well. Does anyone have the tabs for this song? I would be thrilled to perform this tune. Thanks in advance!
