More About Me

I love the banjo and have been playing and teaching for several decades (yikes...). I play Old-Time clawhammer banjo in two bands and teach clawhammer and 3-finger picking styles. I put videos on YouTube (search for clawhammertim) for my students to refer to during the time between lessons.

I'm also the Director of the Traditional Music Project at the Real School of Music in Burlington, MA. We have regular weekly music sessions of all-kinds as well as workshops, concerts and private lessons.

I focus on musicality through having complete control of right and left hand technique and timing. I particularly love old-time fiddle and banjo tunes from the Ozark Mountains and Southern Appalachia.
