Notes: So I wrote this song while trying to learn 'drop-thumb'... It is a simple tune with 'drop-thumb' in about half of the measures. It is a good tune to learn on, in my opinion, and even if you can already drop that thumb, its a cute little tune. Try it out and tell me what you think! |

Notes: This tune is simple but catchy. I wrote if for my best friend, Guido (pronounced Gee-doh with a hard G). Its in open G, with a capo on the second fret (aEAC#E) and I classified it as 'intermediate' because it has a few instances of drop thumb, but its really pretty easy to play. Notes: Here is a tab I worked out for this beautiful song; its prety simple, with the same 2 themes being repeated on different strings. Still, I tried to include the different themes in the tab, and labeled them. If you want to hear how it sounds, you can listen to my mp3, where I am playing with a capo on the first fret, and my 5th string tuned to g#. Notes: Another short tune I wrote, this one is also in Cumberland Gap tuning, a Sawmill tuning variation (gEADE). Its Sawmill with a capo on the second fret, but the fifth string stays at 'g'. There is a little bit of 'drop-thumb', but its a pretty simple little tune, sad but sweet. There is a video of me playing it if you want to hear it. Enjoy. |
