I am having trouble uploading pictures with my I-pad. I have my pictures on shutterfly and on my I-pad. When I go to download pictures, I can't get the "Choose Files" to become active. Is there some trick using an I-pad? Thanks for any help. ....Mike

The other day I clicked on 'Subscribe to this forum' .... I got email notices of the next post ..... One Post but I got 50 email notices. (Yes: 50 emails for one post.) I decided to 'Unsubscribe' to that topic. Should I be afraid to 'Subscribe' to another topic? Reminded me of a weatherman we have here in the Houston area that gave the weather the other day and got the hiccups during his forecast ..... talk about a YouTube going viral!

MP3 posting hiccups

I uploaded an MP3 this morning, Sari, and whoa, all of a sudden there's seven copies of it. Nope, my enter key did not get stuck. I remember this happening a while back with pictures too, using a different keyboard back then.

Why is there a red line across the top of only this thread? I asked in the thread and I think people thought I was being humorous, but I was not. It is only on this thread that the line appears. All others look normal to me. There is a small red arrow all the way on the right.

Posting which instruments you own

I've noticed that many people on the Hangout sites post specifically which instruments they own (exact model, year of manufacture, etc.) When I set up my account initially, I just put generic comments like "4 & 5 string banjo, mandolin, etc," not really thinking about it. Afterwards, I've heard some people say they are apprehensive about being really specific, for fear that they may be targeted for theft by internet savvy criminals. Has anyone heard of a scenario like this, or is there no reason to be worried about it?

Player increments play count twice

Whenever I upload a tune to my account, I always play it once through the Hangout's music player. I have noticed that every time I do this it increments the play count by 2 instead of 1.

It does appear to correctly increment the count by 1 whenever someone else plays a tune, however.

Just wanted to point out an apparent bug.

Delay in scroll down

The last few days when changing topics, there is a delay/ hangup in being able to scroll down or change topics... each time the hourglass(working) figure pops up...for an instant... getting to be a pain in the rear...

Ran all diagnostics, shows nothing on this end..

Just checked several other sites... this is the only one hanging up......

Can't un-hide luthier profile

I have asked eric how I do this, and was told to click on the edit link and un tick hide.When I go to my luthier page the only thing there is the words "Luthier not found"..Am I looking in the wrong place? because I cannot find the "edit link" anywhere..It is not in edit profile either?.Can anyone help..Thanks peter.

Windows 8 bugginess

My new magic box has Windows 8, and it's everything you've heard. So, as part of a long series of incredibly frustrating attempts to make it play nice with the other toys, I have discovered that the mail app doesn't import gmail missives from BHO with live links. I can copy & paste, but I'm hoping there is a fix somewhere.

The other thing that happens regularly is that the BHO jukebox crashes. Now, this is very likely a conflict between the jukebox server and the virus blocker or firewall, but I can't figure it out. If anyone has the solution, do let me know. I use the Windows firewall (for now) and AVG Avast for the scanner.

I was just writing a post to on the SOM thread. When I hit the post button an box popped up and said in large letters TWO PEOPLE ARE SPYING ON YOU. As soon as it appeared it disappeared. I am terrible with the computer and I have know idea what this means was but I thought I would let everyone know. With all the hijacked accounts and fraudulent banjos offered I figured better safe than sorry.

PS Glenn I installed Explorer and the videos and MP3s work fine.

The "Contact members" feature has a new look on each homepage. If I right click, it says I can email with Windows Live. Then it automatically goes to my husband's email. I don't use Windows Live, so how can I now email from my gmail like I used to?

there is a problem on the games, although it’s only now and again. Take for instance at present, the “Last Word” game, you will see {unless page rolls forward this being a natural event}..that the page to click to post a reply is #80, well if you do click #80 and you do not notice this fact first off, that the last posted page is #81..this means that a poster will inadvertently post a re-ply on to page #80..This frequently causes vexation and other stuff,. As I say it happens to different games at different times.

JPG photos won't upload to classified ad

I have a classified ad and have tried to upload JPG photos. I choose the JPG file from my MacBook desktop and successfully enter it on the upload photos page of the classifieds. However when I try to upload the JPG photos to the ad I get an error message stating that I must use a JPG format.

What am I missing here? The file size for each JPG photo is about 29 KB. I have also tried to upload one photo at a time.

For the past 3 days, I've been getting up to around 30 emails a day about replies to threads that I have viewed/posted in. I've been looking in my profile settings to see if I checked a box I shouldn't have, and I see no indication that I have. I even unchecked the newsletter box to see if that might be it. Any help?

Prev and Next and Close on photos

It used to be, when you used the "attachment" button to attach multiple photos to a forum post, and then clicked on the photo thumbnails in the post, photos would come up with a hidden "Prev" and "Next" button on the left and right sides so you could navigate without using your browser back button. Also there was a close button in the lower right corner. Now, it seems to open the photos in a new page (same tab) and you have to go back and forth with your browser back button. Is this happening to everyone, or just me? Is there a browser setting that controls this behavior?

Default font size for posts--changeable?

Is there a way to change the default font size for posts? The 12-pt default font is a little small for my aging eyes and I would prefer it to be larger, at least when I post. I know I can manually change it in a post, but am wondering if it were configurable somewhere.

Subject says it. I know it's possible in some forums I'm familiar with, but you have to "pretend" to email the post and then pick up the URL that way. At least that's my method! Someone just responded to a post of mine with a link that went to a particular page in a long thread, but it would be nice to be able to put a link to an individual post.

Hi Eric..

Not sure if this is intended or a problem.

The last day or two I have noticed a large advertising banner appearing across the bottom of the pages. Now these are not the normal banjo related adverts I have grown accustomed over the years.

The one today is for Vauxhall Motors and is clearly a UK targeted advert.

I am not complaining... If this helps to fund the Hangout I can live with it. But I have a feeling that the page has been hacked by a webbot and that this is someone hitching a ride. Just thought you ought to know.

Hey Eric--

I was preparing for a future thread and some MP3s I was going to use no longer work at all. Since discovering this problem a few minutes ago I have just clicked randomly on some of my MP3s, and some play, and some don't. With this post, I'm attaching two that don't play. Can you (and others) tell me if they play for you and if not, what is the issue? And if so, what could cause this on my end?

I cleared cookies and cache and the problem still exists. Any ideas?

What'z Up with all these Pop-Ups?

It seems like it was only a week ago I started noticing verious underlined words in the body of the texts, some are colored blue. When I drag my cursor across them I immediatelly get a pop-up from all sorts of advertizers. Their cute little flag blocks the page I am trying to read. Most aggravating.

Why is it here, what's going on? Is this somekind of virous? Can it be stopped?

Strange format when writing posts

For the past few days when I try to write a post for the forums (at least all that I use) the screen goes into an extremely wide mode and I have to scroll to find the end of the lines. So far all this has been on one line. I can't see the line beginning and the scroll bars on the right at the same time. I still have not reached the end of the first line...............................................................................Here it is!

When I hit POST the resulting screen is formatted correctly again.

I suspect I've toggled something, but I haven't the foggiest what, nor any idea of how to get back to where I once belonged.

Today for the first time, I noticed that some of the authors words in a post will be turned blue and underlined. I've not clicked on any, but just moving my cursor to the blue words indicates they are links to ads.

Is this something new to BHO or is it just something new to my computer? Last night my nephew helped me set-up my computer so I could upload audio and video and I registered at YouTube in order to upload a video. I know they can sneak stuff in on a person if , like me, that person doesn't know what to watch for when downloading or signing up for stuff. Is this what has happened to me?

Is it harmful or simply frustrating?

Can anyone help me out with directions on working this? When I click on a song from someone's music files, it brings up this Hangout Jukebox..it has a "Playlist " dropbox, which I can't figure out what to do with...it then shows the song at the bottom but it never loads or plays..it acts like it is loading but never does...I can click on download the MP3 and it will then bring up another box and play it within that....

Am I missing something?

There appear to be two Kerry Craig and they are crossing wires so to speak. Example is if you go to my profile, I have my instrument cluster as my picture. If you follow one of my friends like John Bowlin and click on my name on his hangout profile, an image comes with boots and beer bottle. Not my image and don't know whose it is.
