<title>Terry Hollands banjo lessons do not work</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/161949</link>
<description>The chord construction lessons with Terry Holland do not work and that is sad for the lessons he had were really good. I have tried contacting Eric and to no avail with no response. What is going on. I feel they should be taken down if they are not working at all or figure out a way to get them back up, which is a better idea[:)]

<title>Deny friends request...??</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/161809</link>
<description>Is there a way for a friends request to expire..??

I would like to deny some friends request (for personal reasons), but sending them a &quot;denied&quot; notice seems kinda harsh, especially when there is no apparent reason for it.

Older requests possibly should just expire.....

<title>Can't see videos in Internet Explorer</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/161756</link>
<description>In the past week or two I've found that I can no longer see hangout videos in internet explorer on my laptop. I just get a blank space (with a small icon in the top right hand corner) where the video would normally be.
It seems to work OK on other computers and on Firefox.
Could be a change in the hangout or one of my settings. Would appreciate some help from Eric or others on fixing this,
Thanks,
Craig

<title>Downloading MP3</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/161723</link>
<description>I am sorry if this is a redundant question but I did a search and could not find the answer. When you download Mp3's from the media archives
1. Do they stay on your computer, because I haven't seen a way to save them anywhere
2. I wanted to play along with the songs and not have to get on the internet every time and search for them
Thanks

<title>Firefox freezes</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/161722</link>
<description>The Banjo Hangout gets Firefox to 'freeze'. It was that way from the beginning, after changing from IE to FF.

When working on line, after 30 or 50 seconds of no keystrokes, the screen 'freezes'.
Only repeated reloading brings the whole thing back to life. then quickly continue before the screen locks up again.....

So far, only the BHO shows this behavior.

What's causing it and how to get rid of this annoying bug?

<description>Eric,

Not knowing how to do tabs, I tried to post a written description of Tommy Jarrell's &quot;Frankie Baker&quot; (for banjo), which he taught me in 1973. The site said I had to post something in order for it to be visible. I thought I did &quot;post&quot; it. Could you make this visible for others?

Thanks,

<description>I posted an MP3 on my Music page tonight, and it showed up as eight identical copies, though I only posted it once! How can this happen? I would like to delete the extra copies, but I can find no way to delete MP3s; only to add them. This certainly seems like a bit of an oversight! How can I delete the extra copies?

Thanks in advance.

<title>Hand Gun thread</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/159887</link>
<description>Okay, I'm being a pain, but I have to point out that the &quot;does a hand gun protect you&quot; thread went 18 pages before it finally got locked. Actually, that doesn't really bother me, per se, if I object to a thread I just don't read it. My only point for bringing this up is to say that anyone who thinks the list owner and mods do not come to this forum with their own political, religious, and philosophical beliefs, and that those beliefs do not unconsciously color how they make decisions, need only look at that thread.

I feel that folks who enjoy collecting and using firearms for sport have every right to post threads to discuss their avocation without interference from gun control proponents. Stuff like the advantages of this shotgun over that shotgun, or this cartridge over that one, or anything related to the sport of shooting or the hobby of gun collecting. But when you get into issues which are at the center of the gun control debate, you are entering into politics. On the very first page, several members predicted a quick lock. Funny thing about that, it wasn't at all quick, was it? When you agree with the overall political sentiment, your definition of when something is &quot;political&quot; can suddenly get very lenient. It's human nature, I readily admit, and really can't be avoided, but a little circumspection in this regard from our forum constabulary would be refreshing.

<title>When shopping cart is not empty, unable to Log Out</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/159521</link>
<description>I just discovered that, with an item in my Shopping Cart, that I am no longer able to log out. I hit the &quot;Log Out&quot; link, am taken to the page which confirms the log-out, but then click anywhere else in the site, and I'm still logged in.

Apparently, the log-out is tied to a cookie which shows items in the cart. So when I log out and get the confirmation log-off screen, there is still a link showing &quot;View Cart&quot; which should not be showing at all at this point.

When I delete all banjohangout cookies, it works fine and I am logged out for real, and no more View Cart link for a logged off user. This could be a potential problem, especially on public computers. Log out means log out and should not be dependant on shopping cart contents.

Thanks.

<title>Credit Card rejected, but billed anyway. twice</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/159516</link>
<description>I just tried joining the Banjo Union, and was not able to complete the credit card section. I twice got errors saying my card or CCVN was incorrect (they were both correct) and got an on-screen message that the card was declined for that reason.

I called my bank to see what's up, and see that both charges went through fine, and were actually approved. So now I have 2 pending $30 pending charges as of today, and still was not able to complete checkout. In fact, my shopping cart is still full.

My bank reports these two approved, pending transactions:

10/06/2009
9:32 AM, EST--ATM/DEBITCARD PURCHASE-HANGOUT NETWORK LAKEPORT CA
	$30.00
10/06/2009
9:35 AM, EST--ATM/DEBITCARD PURCHASE-HANGOUT NETWORK LAKEPORT CA
	$30.00

Both are pending and will clear probably tonight. Please help. I want to join the union, but not pay $60 to do so. Please look into this and let me know what I must do on my end, and please correct what needs to be done on your end.

Anyone else with this issue? Thanks!

<title>Broken link to Duane</title>

<description>I tried to link to Duane's Bajo Page through BHO site at http://www.users.qwest.net/~ldd1/banjo.htm
As you can see it is broken
I used
http://myweb.cableone.net/duanelangston/banjo_page.htm instead.
cheers

Something does not ring true about this person - that text has not been written by a native English speaker (which is what they are purporting to be) and the whole thing is irrelevant to banjo........

<title>HTHL snippet in posts?</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/159413</link>
<description>It would be great to post a youtube video in a reply with out having to follow a link. This works well on other groups.

Is there a way to do this that I don't know about?

<title>Active Topics: Last Visit too quick-on-the-draw?</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/159361</link>
<description>It seems like something has changed about the &quot;Since Last Visit&quot; field of the &quot;Active Topics&quot; page. Now, if I spend even a moment looking at other BHO content before going to &quot;Active Topics&quot; (usually my first stop) the clock is reset to just a moment ago and I get no (or very few) topics showing. I've been changing to &quot;Last Hour&quot; or &quot;Last 12 Hours&quot; or whatever I estimate the right time frame to be, and that works just fine...

... but I did like it better when there was some amount of buffer against the &quot;Last Visit&quot; being seconds ago.

Thanks for reading this!

<title>GoingUp! ??</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/159347</link>
<description>At the left bottom on (I think) every BHO page, just below the black menue at the bottom, there is a little button with a GoingUp! that is linked to a page www.goingup.com (I haven't visited it). I have seen it only when I'm on BHO. Is it a normal link added by Eric thing or have I been hacked?
