I am looking for a Alvarez Montana 5 Star, Model 4286 in Excellent to Near Mint condition. Would prefer the seller was close to Atlanta, GA so I could play the banjo before I buy it but will consider regardless of location.

I have looked at the two listed in the Hangout classifieds. The one from PA is a little out of my price range and I do not like the capo rod. I would consider the one from Miami, FL but would prefer one from later in the 70's.

Very good condition GF100FE, speed necked and smooth on the neck, some fret wear but does not affect playability, one small scratch on the back of the resonator that's the only place, no buckle rash, Gary Sosebee submerged wood 5/8 standard bridge, prucha leather strap. This banjo plays very smoothly, I have played it in many shows and gotten LOTS of compliments on its sound. Just need to make room, this one has to go! I have a used, but like new Price banjo insulated cover from Gary Price cases. It fits the "triangular type" banjo case. I bought it when I bought my case. it is gray in color, zips around case with velcro cover where the handle comes through. It has a shoulder strap, that hooks to cover. I used this cover two times. It is insulated against any extreme temperatures as well. Anything Gary Price makes is A-1. In classified section under banjo accessories. I reduced price to $100.
