<title>2008 Nechville Walnut Phantom and Tenor</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/162054</link>
<description>OK, this hurts. I love this banjo but need to sell it as per 'the powers that be'.

Here's a great chance to own two banjos for a decent price. Right now, I would like to sell the Phantom along with the tenor neck as a pair (as per the ad). That is (1) a Phantom neck, (2) tenor neck and (3) the Helimount pot. It is a real beauty and a great player. It is basically in mint but I listed it as excellent because it is almost 2 years old this winter.

<title>Stuff for Melodic Material</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/162009</link>
<description>Ooop's :) I had two screens open posting the classified and this one at the same time. Got the forum done before the classified and came back to forums and it was gone :) Glad Eric has some sharp Mod's (nothin smart there I know a few of them and mean it!) Glad to see the process working :) Ok onto my Ad. Hope someone besides me learned something from this [:)]

Hey [:)] I am looking to trade &#8220;something&#8221; for a Tony Trishka Melodic Banjo Book (Hal Leonard, 126 pages). I would also like his Melodic banjo Fiddle Tunes book and any other worth melodic style instruction books, Mainly the Trishka Melodic Banjo Book. If Bill Keith has any instructional books would also be interested in them. Also interested in (along with) any of the cd's, the Trishka, Fleck Keith stuff, or Bela's older cd's.

Things I have to trade? : Various size and type bridges, a couple different price type tailpieces (cheap ones off Rover or Blueridge banjo&#8217;s), Maybe a Chinese tension hoop, a couple different heads (med crown remo frosted, clear used 5 star), I have a set of (4) nice 5 star tuners that just came off the Goldstar neck I sold, Gibson style arm rests, used in good shape (Chinese), Aluminum pot, guitar type banjo tuners, planetary 5th string tuner, a set of 4 Chinese brand &lt;i&gt;5 star type&lt;/i&gt; tuners, heavy Golden Gate clamshell tail piece (used but in good shape, came off my Goldstar), 3/4 size banjo case, just different things, I'm sure I'll think of more.

The more or better stuff I get the better the trade, obviously. Each pays our own shipping. The 5 star tuners are worth a little more as a set, obviously [8D] . Let me know what ya got, I like to trade and really want some of this instruction material. It's easier for me to trade than to be scroungin up the cash and findin a friend with a pay pal account to use lol... [:D]Thanks in advance,

I love this banjo but just got an rb-250 and dont really need it anymore. Its also got a really interesting tailpiece, reminds me of the deering style.

<title>JLS #4 and Cox Rim for sale.</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/161903</link>
<description>I have a JLS#4 with a cox rim for sale in the classifieds. Note about the Repair work the rim had done: The Peice of wood that shows between the flange and tone ring had some gaps in it, where the owner cut it with a razor blade, but in no way has affected sound. The Lip of the ring comes down all the way on top of the rim and there is no high spots. Ive checked with a Filler gauge hundereds of times. This cosmetic issue since i got it has been fixed and the rim looks brand new. I will post pics soon. Check it out under my Classifieds!

<description>Would like to buy an old resonator and plate flange that is the smaller version for the 10.5&quot; pots Gibson made in the 1920s. Wishing to add these parts to a 5 string RB Junior. I know it will take an extreme amount of luck for the holes on the pot to match up to those on the flange but I'm willing to gamble a bit.

Thanks,

<title>Assembled 5 String Blue Grass Banjo - Wide Neck</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/161739</link>
<description>Ian Montgomery and I plotted together to produce a really good low cost pro quality banjo. We picked the best parts from our stashes and came up with this.

5 string blue grass banjo -$1195
Assembled from some of the best components available
Mahogany Cooperman rim topped with a Cathey #12 tone ring
A Stelling one piece flange on a vintage Gibson resonator
Fults 1934 tail piece
Weighs approx. 11 lbs.

The neck is a Gibson clone but made wider than standard - 1 3/8 in. wide at the nut
Nicely flamed maple neck
Great for big hands and fat fingers like mine
5 Star planetary tuners all around
No 5th string spikes yet, but I will install how many and where you want

Comes with a lightly used thermoplastic hard shell case that originally housed a Gold Star.

And the sound? Just great! Growly 4th string. Nice clear accurate noting all the way up the neck. Good volume.
I don't do blue grass so I won't try to do a sound sample of real music. I may try to do a sample of just some strummed chords up and down the neck.

As usual, three day approval period. If you return it, you pay shipping both ways

<title>FS: 2005 Mahogany Osborne Chief</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/161648</link>
<description>http://www.banjohangout.org/classifieds/detail.asp?ID=5804&amp;cid=12040

2005 Mahogany Osborne Chief
Serial #7

- Calton case
- &quot;Chief&quot; capo from Phil Elliot
- Dogwood Designs &quot;Chief&quot; strap

- Flying Eagle inlay
- Spikes at 7th &amp; 9th frets (standard)
- Speed neck (standard)
- Setup by Charlie Cushman

This is the best-sounding mahogany banjo that I've ever owned. It is in excellent condition, with the following minor issues:
	- Some fret wear on frets 1-5, but refretting won't be needed for a while yet (not visible in photos).
	- A few button tracks on the back of the resonator. They do not show up on the photos.
	- Some gold has worn off on the armrest (visible in photos).
	- Some yellowing on the peghead, likely caused by a clamp-on tuner (visible in photos).
	- Little rings on the back of the peghead around the 2nd/3rd tuners, where I had Keith tuners installed (visible in photos).

Other than these issues, this banjo is in really nice shape. I take good care of my banjos. The Calton case is in like-new condition (I used a case cover).

Further specifications are listed on Sonny's website.

$4000 OBO, plus shipping.
Shipping to continental U.S. only

<title>Banjo to trade for a dreadnought</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/161635</link>
<description>My playing partner has a nice bluegrass banjo he's considering trading for a good dreadnought guitar.

He bought it from Gruhn's several years ago. The neck is from a Gibson RB100 and the pot/ring is a Sullivan. He says it has a nice crack to it...I wouldn't know about that since I'm an open-back enthusiast and all resonator banjos sound the same to me[:p].

The trade value's in the $1300 range.

What'cha got?
