Trade ya a Martin D-18V for nice tenor banjo

I'm in Round Rock, TX and have a nice 1992 Martin D-18V I'd like to trade for a nice tenor banjo. Rock bottom value of my Martin is at least $1500 but more reasonably priced around $2000. I'm looking for a tenor banjo of the same value.
I'm kinda sketchy about shipping so I'm gonna have to ask that we exchange the guitar for the banjo in person.

I'm looking for a good Rich and Taylor. It doesn't have to be perfect, nor completely original. I love the RT necks, and most of their inlay. I prefer Mahogany, or Walnut, but I'd consider Maple if the price is right. I'm just looking for something that sounds good and solid. Let me know what you have, and how much.

Brand new, post recall, Guardian Fiberglass banjo case. Very similar to a Calton. These cases were recalled several months ago and Guardian made some changes to them in the area of padding and feet. I got this case two weeks ago and aside from putting a banjo in it to see how it fit the cases has not been used. Brand new. List is $399.00. Cheapest I have seen them sell for is $299.00 plus shipping. I will let this one go for $275.00 shipped. Jim

Quality Gold Plated Banjo for Sale/TradeREDUCED

This is a two month old, gold plated top quality custom banjo. I am only selling it because I bought a Huber Ron Block model at IBMA and need the dough. If I could figure a way to keep it I'd keep it cause this banjo is a really great banjo. I am also open to trades so ask...

It starts with a Hatfield mahogany neck, heart and flower inlay on a rosewood fretboard, Gibson on peghead. Mr. Hatfield made the neck for a Gibson prewar conversion I had and I sold the prewar and kept the neck and put it on this banjo. So it is NOT an original Gibson banjo. It had gold Gotoh tuners. Mahogany resonator from a Gibson RB-3 reissue in mint condition, antiqued binding and concentric rings on back. Gold plated one peice flange with a unplated no hole YATES V-33 flathead tone ring on a Cox 3 ply rim finished to match the neck and resonator. I also have a 20 hole, unplated Blaylock flathead tone ring that I would switch to this banjo should you want the Blaylock instead of the Yates. I find the Yates ring to be a bit drier with a quicker decay and not a much sustain. It also has a gold presto tailpeice. I have a gold 2 hump tailpiece engraved with Florentine engraving from FQMS but would add $115.00 to total price. Black Hardshell Superior banjo case. This banjo is a cannon and the quality and workmanship are top of the line. I know the used banjo market is very soft so I am selling it below what I have invested in it. If it doesn't sell then I will part it out. Email Prewar3@aol.com with any questions/offers.

Has your guitar strap almost dropped or dropped your guitar? Yes, it has! My old one did, too.
I'm offering one that won't drop your guitar. They come in Black, Brown or Tan and you can get a curved one or a straight one.

They are $58.50 and can also be personalized.

In response to an email:
My website will be updated this week with more photos. The standard one is up to 52" adjustment but I'll make it longer or shorter for you without charge. The colors are black, brown and tan although I've gotten a request for a pink one that I'm working up. Any degree of personalizing can be done. From stamping your name to elaborate hand tooling.

Hi folks,
Here's a shameless plug for the OME I just posted to the Classifieds. It's a custom Jubilee Deluxe with the most amazing Brazilian rosewood fingerboard/peghead overlay and heel cap, and abalone inlays (instead of the usual white pearl); also includes an extra inlay in the scoop, a shooting star. Fancy, fancy one-piece figured maple neck and rim veneers. Basically a brand new banjo including hardshell case. Lots of photos in the ad, but I can always take more. Thanks for taking a look. Everyone needs an OME in their herd...

Gold Tone metal Body Reso Guitar

Gold Tone Resonator Guitar $300 plus $30 shipping
Metal body round neck
For slide blues but could be played as a dobro
I bought this guitar brand new on ebay as grade B - damaged. The neck was coming loose from the body. It had been built at the factory with a dowel stick construction. The dowel stick was breaking away from the neck. I rebuilt it like a banjo neck/rim connection. With a block of wood inside the body and two neck bolts that go through the block of wood and are secured with nuts inside the body - just like a banjo. I guarantee/warranty this neck reset for one year. If it loosens at all, I will repair it at no cost or refund your money - your choice.

It plays very nicely. I've tweaked the string action so that it is easy to fret.
As usual, if you don't like it, I will take it back. You pay shipping both ways.

No case

Spillway Dam Banjo Bridge

Hi All,
If anyone has followed the Bridges that xnavyguy has been building, and would like to try one, I have been making some of the ones he and some of his friends came up with, called the Dam Spillway Bridge. I was really surprised at how these bridges improved the sound of my banjos. I am not making them with the vertical grain design that Jerry came up with, but making them out of Red Oak, with the traditional cross grain, with no cap on them. They have a design that transfers the sound straight down to the head, from each string, and I think that is what makes your banjo sound so good.

If you want to try something different, and maybe better, give one a try. I have a play it, and if you like it, pay me deal. If you don't like it, don't pay. Can you get a better deal than that?

Check out my ad in the classified section.

Thanks, stringbean45

Well, since I could use some capital to acquire a pre-Aria Japanese banjo, I'm letting go of my unique Alvarez Bluegrass Special. It not only plays well and sounds great, it's different from any of the other 4285's (factory OEM's) I've seen. Whoever winds up with this instrument will enjoy years of playing. It'll make a fine edition if you collect such banjos, and of course, it's a great instrument to affordably advice your playing from beginner to novice.[;)]

Please let me know if you have any questions, and, be sure to check out the complete photo journal in the "support URL" link as well.... lot's of clear, close up pics to judge by. [:)]

Be blessed,
~Zano

WTB: 9/16" Bridge(s)

Anybody got any of these for sale out there? Got a banjo that I don't want to mess with to lower action. 5/8" is a bit too high.

I need standard spacing and uncompensated. I will consider compensated models though.

Wanted - Deering Hartford Rim

LQQking to Trade for or Buy a Deering John Hartford rim with the wooden tone ring.

I have for trade, an original Deering 3 ply rim with a no-hole flat head tone ring.
It's in mint condition and sounds pretty darn good. This ring is loud with outstanding tone and a very deep 4th string.
I am a big Hartford fan and have been wanting to try one of these Hartford rims for years and i'm not getting any younger. I know I can get one built but rather try it this way first.
If interested in a trade or sale, email with info.
Thanks....Will

WTB Hot Spot bridges 1/2" and 5/8"

Looking to buy 2 Hot Spot bridges: one 1/2" and one 5/8" -- though I would also consider 9/16", .656" or even 11/16". Crowe spacing would be ideal but standard is OK too.

Hoping a couple of you have one of these you're not using.

thanks,

John

NO LONGER AVAILABLE Style 11/RB-75 maple neck $682

- This maple neck was recently hand-made by Virginia luthier Zack Deming for an 11 conversion he was working on. The need for the neck is gone, so it goes here before eBay. Wonderful profile, 1.18" width at nut, 1.80" width at 22nd fret. Finished in black nitrocellulose lacquer, pre-war style thin binding, pre-war style black stained pear wood peghead overlay, straight-grain maple neck cut for one piece flange. Has dual action Gibson-style truss rod, brazilian rosewood fingerboard with hand-cut mother of pearl inlay similar to a late 1930's RB-75. Lag bolt, tuner and 5th peg holes are cut. Spikes installed at 7, 8, 9.

NO LONGER AVAILABLE
