The better banjo mute
Super Effective
$35.49 (includes U.S. shipping, additional $6.99 outside U.S.)

Easy on and off
No string buzz
Stays in place
Enhanced sustain
Fits most bridges, including compensated bridges
AVAILABLE IN OUR MOST POPULAR 5 STRING STANDARD MODEL
ALSO AVAILABLE IN RADIUS AND 4 STRING MODEL
Convenient size
Does not add that metallic sound

A smart accessory to own, Mike’s Banjo Mute reduces volume to make practicing quieter. Parts are cut, polished, and assembled by hand and individually tested to ensure consistent quality.

The force required to attach or remove some mutes can move the bridge. Instead, Mike’s Banjo Mute goes on and off easily. The hook of soft aluminum holds firmly but gently to the cutouts in the bridge while solid brass rests on top to very effectively mute the banjo to a level that won’t disturb others in close proximity. Fixed nylon screws that won't move or scratch the bridge hold it snugly in place.

Nylon screws are preferred over any other. Its slight flexing allows the mute to rest to the backside of the bridge to prevent annoying string buzz. Unlike plastic, it will last a lifetime. Unlike metal, it creates a more pleasing, softer sound and offers an enhanced sustain.

With the mute on, your banjo plays slightly quieter than a guitar at normal volume so it becomes a great play along instrument. It generates no string buzz or metallic sound and offers an enhanced sustain. It relieves your spouse of hearing the 300th rendition of Foggy Mountain Breakdown, or the fumbling twangs of a song in early practice. It’s great for close quarter apartment dwellers, midnight and early morning pickers, and those playing away from home in a hotel room or office.

Mike’s Banjo Mute completely detaches from the banjo for regular play to avoid any unwanted overtones.

Mike’s Banjo Mute has a low 3/8” profile above the bridge, avoiding any interference with proper hand positioning during play. With its convenient petite size (2 ¾ x ¾ x ¾) and protective storage bag, Mike’s Banjo Mute fits in any case and easily travels with you wherever you go.

Most orders are shipped in one business day after receipt of funds.

Try it for a week. 7 day money back guarantee less S&H ($30 refundable).

Be sure to check out the review of Mike's Banjo Mute in the June 2008 issue of The Banjo NewsLetter.

For Sale: PRE-WAR GIBSON MASTERTONE PYRAMID BANJO CATALOG POSTER - $29.95 USD

FOR SALE > 1927 Gibson Banjo Catalog Poster for Style TB-2 MASTERTONE Pyramid Banjo. There has been much talk for a few years now about the elusive and "Best Kept Secret" Gibson Pyramid Banjo. Many have thought these to be a "Sub Mastertone" model. > NOT SO !!! < Here in TEXT is the proof and authentiicty that many of us have been searching for ! If you are fortunate enough to own one of these Pyramid Banjos, then you already know of the INCEDIBLE TONE & VOLUME. There is good reason for this. This Advertisement tells the story !!! In 1927 there was NO SUCH THING as a FLATHEAD tone ring yet. In this catalog and IN NO OTHER the Style 2 is labeled MASTERTONE, meaning that it had a cast tone ring and NOT a brass or steel hoop. It brought the head surface area nearly all the way out to the tension hoop giving it more area than the ARCHTOP rings. I think they were so surprised at the IMMENSE VOLUME that a couple of years later the FLATHEAD ring appears. That would make this the FIRST FLATHEAD or at least the PREDECESSOR to the FLATHEAD RING. They ONLY MADE THESE FOR ABOUT 2 and a half years. Only 390 were produced and less than 50 are known to exist right now. I have included a side shot of 9331-14 1929 Pyramid Banjo for you to see. This was A TONE RING MASTERTONE BANJO. THE RING HAD A SKIRT AND WAS FIT TO THE WOOD RIM. IT HAD NEARLY FULL FLATHEAD TONE & VOLUME. The AD description reads " A NEW TONE CHAMBER " Also, they are as light as a feather.

This is your chance to own the documentation of this ground-breaking banjo. In a stunning, frameable, beautiful creation of the original advertisement you will be proud to have this in your music room, office or where ever your bluegrass friends will notice. It was painstakingly salvaged and color tinted to best show the history and authenticity of The Gibson MASTERTONE Style TB-2 Banjo. With a beautiful old time tint to the background, sharp and crisp black & white text, crimson red Gibson logo and style label, and glorious sepia tone photos, this banjo nearly jumps off the page and into your playing hands.

This will be mailed in a sturdy mailing tube for safety ready for you to matte or frame as you choose. This is a LIMITED EDITION print so hurry and get yours before they are gone. This was primarily done as a labor of love for those "lucky" enough to have acquired one of these "very special" banjos. It was not cheap to have this tinted and colored as such so the price simply reflects my investment plus a little extra for my effort. I hope you will enjoy this as much as I enjoyed doing it for all in "THE PYRAMID CLUB" Also, anyone with any type of Gibson interest !!!

By the way, the buttons on this banjo are reproduction Catalin Gumdrop shape buttons from The One & Only Ron Barnes of Yorktown, Va. They are the PERFECT compliment to this banjo. The neck was done by the One & Only Don Bryant of Thurmond, NC.

I have a VERY FEW LARGER PRINTS if interested. The size of these are 11 x 15 > Simply pay my paypal 29.95. ( 2 for 50.00 )
The price includes shipping & handling. My PayPal is > <a href="mailto:hpytrls@comcast.net">hpytrls@comcast.net</a>

For Sale: The Perfect Touch Thumb Pick - $12.95 USD

Designed with a wrap that's worn over or straddles the knuckle, the pick nevertheless emerges where the thumb pick normally emerges. This results in a thumb pick with the Perfect Touch.

Extremely comfortable and functional, the Perfect Touch Thumb Pick is so stable, one can play hard rhythm without fear of the pick being dislodged.

The old style thumb pick wrap clamps the thumbnail so tightly the blood flow is usually cut off, resulting in a painful playing experience. If not clamped tightly enough, the pick will simply dislodge, usually at the most inopportune moment.

The Perfect Touch Thumb Pick may be worn for long periods of time without the least amount of discomfort.

As with all Perfect Touch Products, The Perfect Touch Thumb Pick comes with a lifetime guarantee against wearout.

I bought this to make a tone hoop for a Goodtime banjo, but ended up trading the Goodtime before I could make the hoop. It's been sitting in my shop for a year totally unused. I'm sure someone here can use it so I'm letting it go for $50.00 + $16.00 Priority Shipping.
These sell new for $72.99. Here's the link: <a href="http://www.harborfreight.com/gear-driven-ring-roller-36790.html" target="_blank">harborfreight.com/gear-driven-...6790.html</a>
You might need to do some minor clean up of the knurling to keep the roller from marring your stock. Ther are several threads on this on BHO, so check it out. I'll answer any questions, but this is a no refund sale, so ask for any details or additional pictures. My BHO feedback is 100% positive so buy with confidence.

Hi, and thanks for looking

NOS Solid Brass **Satin Finish** Leno Banjo Capo, made in the USA

Some customers wanted an Antique, or Satin Finish on these Capo's, so I have been expermenting with one, and think I have it looking pretty good, but I'll let you be the judge of that. They will look great on old banjos, as they have the "old school" look to them, and look like they may have been bought at the same time the banjo was.

These are really nice capo's that work as good as they look, and they look great

These Capos List for $60 + $5 Shipping on the web, if they are not out of stock

They are very similar to the Pro Level Capos that cost well over $100, so you can see what a bargain they are

Free Shipping to the lower 48 States, Sorry but Postal Rates have gone up so much for Overseas mail, I have to charge $6.50 to send them Overseas.

I accept Paypal, or if you need to use another form of payment, contact me

I have a limited supply at this great price, so stock up now.

This is an ad for a Banjolution, T-Shirt, Sweat Shirt or bumper stickers which can be ordered directly at <a href="http://www.zazzle.com/banjolution" target="_blank">zazzle.com/banjolution</a><b></b>. There are three designs available.
All proceeds (10%) of the Banjolution will be donated to BHO. Banjolution has already contributed the commission equivalent of the sale of an expensive banjo to the classifieds.

The proceeds of the Doolin Banjos shirt will go to the Irish Tenor Banjo web site, since we have had no takers from here. BTW I was in Doolin in late December and the locals loved the t-shirt.

If anyone would like hats, mouse pads or underwear in any of the designs, just let me know. The T-Shirts and bumper stickers are high quality and turn around from Zazzle is fast.

Follow up: I have ordered both T-Shirts and Sweat Shirts from Zazzle and the quality is excellent. Feel free to enlarge the image a bit if you are ordering a sweat shirt.
To order a crew neck sweat shirt: Note that it is under one of the styles of T-Shirts. Select all styles and you will see a choice for sweat shirts, as well as many other styles of T-Shirts.

Just created a few new designs including a Doolin Banjos "Gig Bag" big enough to carry instrument stands, preamps and lots of other gear.
