This is a tune I picked up within the last 20 years and came up with an ever-evolving banjo version. I never tried to emulate any particular version of this tune nor have I tried to emulate a drop-thumb approach. My brain doesn't work like that. My approach is to simply play the tune in a Scruggs-based style which works just fine. In writing this tab I realized that I rarely play the tune the same way twice and pull from a body of licks on-the-fly as I play it. So, in this tab you will see I offer several variations for the same phrases which appear throughout the tune. This is a fun tune to play and I've noticed over the years that it's becoming more commonplace, part of a growing shared repertoire at jams and get-togethers.

My daughter recently turned 13 and, being a fan of Kermit the Frog, asked for a Kermit puppet and a small banjo for him to hold. I started fooling around with the melody to see if I could come up with a way to play it, as a present for her birthday. I wanted something that sounded a little different than the way it is normally played. After a couple of weeks I settled on this version. My friend Bob Hall, @BlueRain43, provided the double bass part. The banjo was recorded with 2 iPhones and a Blue Yeti Pro USB mic at my house. The bass was recorded with fancier stuff at Bob's. Happy Birthday Emily and thank you Bob for your help. Headphones or hi-fi speakers are recommended for accurate reproduction of the double bass (instead of laptop or phone speakers).

Banjo Hang Out member Trevor Fielder, sadly and suddenly passed away on the 5th of December last year. He was my best mate, and will always remain so. My computer know how is hopeless, so thankfully, Trev posted all my videos and Mp3's, from day one, for me, here on the Hangout. Trev was one of the toughest blokes I've ever met, as strong as a mallee bull, but behind his huge frame, stood the most compassionate, caring, gentle giant of a man imaginable!. R.I.P. Trevor.
