Anyway, I eventually found out that the tune was called "Sailor's Hornpipe" or "The College Hornpipe" and in fact is a very popular fiddle tune. I guess I should feel stupid for not knowing... I made this arrangement some time in August and wanted to make this recording and arrangement a little project for my first banjo anniversary as I got my banjo on August 26, 2010. Unfortunately I didn't find the time to record it so I'm uploading this now two months late. The good thing about it is that I have had a lot of time to practice this tune so I'm quite content with the recording. I only had to play it a few times until I was mostly happy with the cut.
