<itunes:summary>This is a Macedonian folksong that my stepdaughter Abigail and I did as part of a Christmas/Hanukka present for her mom. Abby sings with the Yale Slavic Chorus and has been schooling me in the various GREAT Eastern European choral traditions. We were in a hurry, since in the three hours Madame was out of the house we got the idea, came up with three tunes, rehearsed, recorded and burned CD's of them. So I accompanied using the bottom two (of three) parts, and overdubbed the melody in the intro and third verse, but as soon as I get a minute I'll get a solo tab up. There's a bunch of this stuff that would be gorgeous on the banjo.

Oh - and the present was a huge hit.</itunes:summary>

He’s doing the vocal and playing a couple of guitars. I decided to load it into a modest $150 four-track recorder and added bass, Clawhammer banjo, and hammered dulcimer to it, sent it back to him, and the result it attached. So this is a recording that’s traveled about 8,200 miles from start to finish.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Ray Treat is a member of Banjo Hangout; I first met Ray in 1967 while in the Navy in Newfoundland. He would frequently bring a group of friends, his banjo and his guitar to our house to sing and partake in the local liquid folk art.... His banjo became an obsession with me and eventually resulted in my learning to play some 40 years later... Ray remains one of my best friends today.

Ray was recently recorded singing lead on Ramblin Boy at the Savannah Folk Festival.

How you all enjoy this as much as I am.</itunes:summary>
