Sound

The banjo has a really good set-up at the shop, no compaints. I think that the stained finnish mellows the tone, but I like it. Will be using the resonator plate that Deering sells to project. |

Appearance

Really like the stain over the maple-blond wood. Clasic look, and the Gumby head is replaced by a nice fiddle shape, cool! |

Customer Service

Five Star Guitar is a volume store, and Banjo's are not the focus of the inventory. BUT they will beat ANY price, any price, I found a good price online, and they took it! Sould not expect anyone there to speak Banjotalk, will go elsewhere for the supporting knowlage etc. But I would HIGHLY reccomend this store for those in the Portland, Beaverton area. Very friendly staff, just don't have high expectations. The new banjo has a 6 year warrenty. |

Overall Comments

This is an up-grade from a VERY basic GT I bought in 2006. I love this new banjo, it will be my travel, practice jo. Really did not consider any other banjo for my needs, and I will pass-on my older banjo to an up-and coming player, (lucky guy!) |
