I took a couple of banjos to John for some fret work. One is a 1926 TB1, and the other is a Goldtone OB250. I had worn out the second fret on both of them right under the 3rd string, causing a bad buzz. John leveled and dressed the frets while I waited, and also did some other minor work on the TB1. Both of them are playing great now. And his fee was very reasonable.

I would not hesitate to go to John for banjo repair work. He is a skilled repair man, a great banjo player, and a nice guy.
