Sound

I like to play old timey tunes and be able to sing with them comfortably. So the long neck was a perfect choice for the price. It has a very loud and very rich bass right out of the box. With a little love it makes that perfect cluckin' noise ;)

Setup

When I bought it I needed to raise the action for comfort but everything else was perfect. I bought a new adjustable tail piece to replace the no-knot and a med wght, Moon bridge to even out the tone "the bridge has really made the most difference". I also had a couple spikes installed for easy tuning and traded the Vega armrest in for a more comfortable engraved Gold Tone one.

Appearance

Simple and beautiful. The wood grain is gorgeous and the simple snowflake inlays get the job done.

Reliability

This banjo will stand the test of time. the finish on the neck will take decades to wear off and all the hardware looks like it's going to be there for a long time. I use mine for every show with out any others.

Components

Get and new bridge for it, that I would say is almost mandatory, the stock is nice, but if you want it to have a personality buy a good bridge.

The best quality long neck banjo on the market in a reasonable price range. I would buy another one right away.

I bought it thinking it would cure my problems, I was right. At first I didn't like how the sound was very tinny, but a couple hours later when it had settled the sound was great. Also, this bridge just looks badass.
