Sound
|
For me, one of the most appealing elements of this banjo is the Tony Pass rim, which makes the weight more manageable but still creates a great sound. Folks who listen to it, then heft it, can't believe how light it is. It's plenty loud. |

Cliff (the builder) set this up for me and I haven't had to make any changes. |

Appearance
|
Although I THOUGHT I wanted a dark finish, what initially sold me on this banjo is the gorgeous quilted curly maple. It is beautiful and looks great with the tortoise binding and amber tuners. If I could give it an 11, I would. |

The banjo feels great. Time will tell about the reliability, but I know where to find him. |

I've had the banjo just a few weeks. Lifetime warranty, though--and I believe it. |

I've been playing less than a year, but I believe having a great instrument helps you learn faster. It should be pretty apparent that I'm in love with this banjo, and I hate it when I have to leave it. Couldn't ask for anything else. |

Great camp, great instructors. Plenty of time to learn, not so much that your head gets too full. And short enough so you don't have to take a week's vacation to participate. Classes and jamming inside--a necessity in Texas in August. A little more student jamming would be a good thing, although the instructor jams were amazing. Endlessly entertaining (and very supportive!) camp administrator. |
