I have the JD Crowe model and have used it for only about 5 hours time, and the tip is gone already. I emailed the Bluechip people but they did not reply at all!! I don't play all the time so it has taken several months for me to accumulate several hours playing time, so I don't fall into the 30 day warranty period.

Sound

This Banjo sounds great. IT has a stock kulesh tone ring in it, and it really cracks. I has a nice deep tone. My wife came in tonite and said she could not believe how nice it sounded!!
I recently visited Earl Scruggs, and he said it sounded "real good" That's enuf for me! |

Setup
|
The banjo was set up nice when I got it, but I went to my teacher and we loosened the head just a bit and raised the tailpice a little( it was resting on the head) Both resulted in a nicer deeper tone. |

It is nickel plated stock Gibson, I suppose it will tarnish eventually. |

I would highly recommend a banjo like this to anyone. I thought I was going to have to whip my teacher to get it back. HA |
