John just finished a set up and speed neck for my new Gold Star GF85. It was a good banjo before but now it is a great banjo. I knew that it had more to give, it just needed some one to find it and John did. My friend who plays a 1937 Top Tension Gibson was blown away with the old sound that my banjo now produces. The playability is now awesome and the speed neck had a great feel to it.

Setup

All I did was place the bridge and started playing. After a few days I replaced the strings with almost mediums and plan to change the bridge. Other than that I am not sure if I will chagne anything else.

Customer Service

I dealt with Ben at Instrument Alley.......The first banjo I received was damaged and Ben replaced it in a timely matter. I never had to chase him down for answers. He responded to my emails daily.

With out a doubt. Great price for this banjo. I would have to replace it if stolen. It sounds great and is very eay to play. I can play songs on the GF85 that I could not on my old Kent from the 80's.
