Sound
|
The sound is loud, crisp and rings with a little sustain. It came with a 5/8'ths inch Snuffy Smith bridge which I like and even though it was made in 2003,it had never been played. It is as new as any banjo I've ever seen. |

Setup
|
Banjos are rarely set up to play the way I like them.I always have to tune the head to A and adjust the intonation of the bridge and most banjos have the action higher than I prefer. But those things are easy to do and this banjo was easy to dial in. |

Appearance
|
This banjo had not been played much. It didn't have spikes or a capo for the fifth string. I did have to use Never-Dull to clean up the nickel but the tarnish cleaned up like new.The mahogany wood is beautiful and it is typical of gibson quality.

This model has the Crowe tone ring and it is exactly like his RB-75. No expense was spared.J.D. would'nt endorse it otherwise. |

Overall Comments

I would recommend this banjo to anyone who could get one. Gibson is not making the Crowe RB-75 anymore. I've owned about 15 banjos in 30 years of playing and this is going to be the family heirloom. Buy a gibson. Not a copy. You will never be disappointed. |
