Dave is an ubelievable musician and I can believe that a duffer like myself can have him as a teacher. Although known as the banjo player for the Hillbilly Gypsies, he is also brilliant on the mandolin and guitar. In addition to bluegrass he also plays other styles. He knows quite a bit about music theory but will not push it on students during lessons. Some are curious about how to create songs and accompaniments, while others are mainly interested in playing songs the way that they hear them on the radio or wherever. As an old geezer, I am conversant in old musicians as well as old instruments and Dave has been able to add a great deal to my knowledge, despite the fact that he is just a whippersnapper. If you live within shouting distance of Morgantown WV, I definitely recommend that you look him up.

Fantastic teacher! Really has a passion for bluegrass and it's contagious! Really can relate to individual students' needs. Dave takes a vested interest in his students' progress and success. I would highly recommend Dave Asti. Heck of a nice guy too!
